Hawk stories - I was taking my two out earlier in the week - had them on their leashes and was going out front to get the mail when I heard that oh so familiar and scary sounding screech - I looked up and here was this huge hawk just a hovering around above us... I scooped Izzy up and hurried Jack up so we could get in the house. I live in a city... birds of prey are everywhere as are the coyotes. My brother and sister-in-law (who live in the same city, just on the other end) hear them almost nightly in their backyard...

| I've heard hawks/owls those sort of birds are loners....have you thought about getting one of those fake owls people put in their gardens to keep petty birds like crows away....maybe if they see one bird of prey in your yard they will stay out...

| I've thought about it, but we use those at work and they did well for a little while but then I think the birds realize, 'Hey, that bird never moves..it just sits in the same spot all the time. hmm' lol Seriously, my next "try" will be putting up several bean poles/posts with mirrors attached to the tops..
