| Help Hi, I am wondering if someone in the DFW area can recommend a vet to do my teacup Morkie's spaying. I am so afraid to have it done even though I know I have to. I had a toy Yorkie, Tabitha, she was murdered in PetSmart in October when she was attacked by a large breed dog who came up behind both of us and killed her with one bite. The owner released her retractable leash and let her at her and after being in the store for less than a minute she was dead at my feet. I boght another puppy and she is even smaller and the vet told me today to be very careful where I take her and to make sure that they have the proper equipment to handle a tiny dog. I dont think I could live through another death of a baby of mine and I'm so afraid to even have her spayed even though I know it's the right thing to do. I miss my little punky so much and my heart aches for her every day but I love this little baby too and want her to be taken care of with the right doctors. She is only going to be about 3 pounds full grown. I took Tabitha to the SPCA and they did her spaying and the vet told me that he was shocked that she made it through tat since he knows the equipment they have there, I guess I was lucky with her. The vet I am currently taking her to for shots doesnt do spaying and the vet I origianlly took her to whenI first bought her charged me $700 in 2 visits and want to chage me $400 for spaying. Just need some help here becasue I cannot live through another baby's death. thank you |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I'm not sure of any vets in your area, but I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your first baby. That is very horrible. Any dog that goes into a pet store should be able to be handled & controlled around other dogs (no matter the size of the dog). Again ... I'm so sorry for your loss =( I'm sure that someone on here knows a vet that would do well with spaying your little girl. I know a vet out there must exist that can safely do the surgery. I hope for the best for you and your new baby. Perhaps you should consider waiting until she is full grown to have her spayed if you do not already intend to do so? |

YT Addict | I don't have an answer to your question but I just wanted to say how sorry I am that your poor little baby was killed by that other dog and right in front of you. How horrible!

| Thank you all for your condolences- I miss my baby Tabitha so much and the loss of her will never be replaced. Since I bought another baby to help fill her void, I'm wanting to find a vet that specializes in tiny-teacup breeds in the DFW area that can spay my new baby. I couldnt live through another death and want nothing more than to have the best vet to take care of her and her spaying. Tabitha, my baby that was killed was spayed at the SPCA and I was told that that was the last place I want to have that done. I just want to do right and not rick losing my new baby girl. |

| I am so sorry for your loss that is just terrible. How old is your new pup? I do not know of any vets in your area but finding one that is good with toy breeds is what you need. Make sure before spaying you do the blood work. Also there is no such think as a teacup yorkie or morkie they are all just in the toy category no matter what there size.
