Rescues are flooded right now, people are buying as much and even worse dumping dogs like crazy...so sad. Really so glad you foubd YT and you have a network of people with breeding experience to help you in starting your journey. Who better to be mentors than family & a sprinkle of YT to compare notes etc on.

Welcome to YT. I would have to agree with your husband right now as well. Yorkies are not usually the best pet for small children and it sounds like you really have your hands full for now. A Yorkie may not mix well with your husband's breed either. This is a great place for an intro. You and your mom might want to read and post in the breeders forum to get more info on that aspect. There are some great professional breeders here that have tons of experience breeding Yorkies.

MandiesMom thank you!! Loving reading the site! Interesting stuff on there! I know my mom has golds, and parti carriers right now as well as her standard champion lines and she is going to stop doing the parti/gold (they were all given to her by my sister). I see a lot of controversy on here about that subject as well! ConcreteGurl, thank you!! I am glad I found this place too! It is so sad to know people would dump/abandon dogs like that. The people who run the rescues god bless them because I feel for those little baby dolls who just want to be in someones home and loved forever! Gracielove, Oh my husband no longer has English Bulldogs, his ex wife got all of that. That may have left a bad taste in his mouth too lol .. We have no animals and to me it's heartbreaking because I love them so much and grew up around animals, as a child we always had animals. My mom has been a dog/animal lover since I can remember and the trait was instilled in me. I remember my mom finding a baby dear, the mom abandoned it or something happen to it and the baby dear was dehydrated it was in the middle of the summer and my mom took care of it and bottle fed it till the wild refuge came and got it! Also Oreo, a kitten I had for many years we found on the side of a highway. I remember it was infested with fleas and very sick and we took it in and got it all cleaned up and nursed it back to health. Then there is the story with my mom stopping on a highway cause there was a big dog in the middle of the road. My mom stopped to help it and it scared her to death she fell on her butt in the middle of the highway (with cars stopped both ways and watching) That was funny, I think it had rabies or something we helped that dog but not the way my mom had planned lol. If I didn't have my other half I would likely be taking in any stray that comes to pass .. he's lucky I love him!

Question, anyone know how I can get YT to stop sending emails with each thread I post in? Getting flooded here. Thought I checked for it to not do that but I guess I didn't. Trying to figure it out

Grrr Okay never mind AGAIN. It is not fixed, even though I have chosen the "no email notification" option. I either have to stop posting or figure this out cause email is getting flooded!

| Did you choose no email notification under Default Thread Subscription Mode? If so, it may be because you're already subscribed to receive emails from those threads. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/subscription.php Click there and to the right it will say what type of notification you're receiving. I do not have this problem so I'm not entirely sure if you can stop emails unless you unsubscribe. You can immediately go back in and re-subscribe under "Thread Tools" under each thread.
