| Hello All, New to the thread. And looking for some assistance if possible? Hello, My name is Rob. I have a 10 yr old yorkie named Wendy. She is the greatest pup. My mother is absolutly in love with her and her fiance is asking myself to inquire about a good breeder for yorkies in the northern new jersey area. If anyone could be of assistance I would greatly like to provide her the opportunity my wife and i have had for the past 10 yrs. Thanks and Nice to meet you all. Rob |

| The YTCA is a good starting place for info and some breeders names. You can also go to the AKC website and do a search for conformation and/or breed clubs in your area. These clubs usually have a breeder referral person that you can contact who should be able to give you some names of breeders that you can look into. Since you are in NJ you can also search PA and NY. There are many of the clubs are around the NYC area but there are some further out as well. There are many breeders in the area. Make sure you check out any breeder, even the ones that show. There are good and bad in every organization. Look into Yorkshire Terrier publications that show who is who in the show world. I know you are only looking for a pet but learning about bloodlines and how sound they are is important even when looking for a pet that should be a member of your family for years to come. When you do a google search for Yorkie breeders you will get mostly puppy mills and backyard breeders in your search. They make fancy websites that do not show the horrible conditions the dogs are actually kept in. Many brokers also advertize online. Good breeders do have websites but they hardly ever come up on a regular search. Best wishes on your hunt. Take your time and have fun doing your research for your little treasure. |
