| Training HELP!!! I have a Yorky puppy who has just turned 6 months old- I purchased her from a breeder at 4 months old and was told that she was 'partially wee-wee pad trained'. We also have two other dogs (both Shorkies) who are 2 and 3 yrs old. Due to the small size of all three dogs use wee-wee pads for them to do their business. The puppy has learned to use the pads 'occasionally', but sometimes does her business right on the floor. Another bad habit she has is eating the feces of the other dog (not her own). We tried putting meds in the food of the other dogs to keep her away but to no avail. We try to be vigilant when the other two dogs go and pick up the feces ASAP, but the puppy is sometimes quicker than we are!!! We would appreciate any advice regarding the feces-eating problem...also do dogs outgrow this? |

| oh yes , the poo eating problem . I remember it well. my oscar fortunately outgrew it . I think a lot of dogs do. i know some people have luck using pineapple.. give each dog a pineapple chunk with each meal , it is supposed to make the poo less tasty... |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hello and Welcome. I would suggest this book. How to Housebreak Your Dog in 7 Days by Shirlee Kalstone. It is wonderful book and to helps with wee wee pad training. I agree. Pineapple works.

| I also give Abby a bit of banana every day (I freeze some" discs" so I always have it available) I saw it on a Cesar Milan, Dog Whisperer show that he felt the poo eating dog was short of potassium. She was a skinny little pup then so I didn't think the bit of banana would hurt, now it is her am treat. Lots of negative reaction when she went for Ziva's poo, too! She is 15 months and doesn't do it anymore, but I keep an eye on her. |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I've read several times about the pineapple trick working good as well. We use the Potty Training Puppy Apartment for wee wee pad training and it has been a lifesaver!!! Potty training was a breeze for us with this! Their website is www.modernpuppies.com. It is a bigger expense, but we love it. Katie Scarlett was 95% potty trained in 2 weeks. She is a year now and hasn't had an accident in months. Good luck to you!
