| New Yorkie Parent! Hi all! I'm going to be a yorkie parent on 12/9 and have so many questions. I have read quite a few helpful threads. I wanted to ask about Banfield Pet Hospital inside of PetSmart. Is this a good vet? Does anyone recommend them? Or should I look for a "regular" vet office? Any input is welcomed! TIA! |

YT 3000 Club Member | I would not personally go to them, they push alot of stuff as well as other places that are corporations. I have a regular vet office and it is great, talk to people and find out about places including the banfield that you are thinking about, good luck |

| I have heard nothing but bad things about them and I would not use them.

| Try looking on yelp for reviews. There are about 6 Banfield hospitals around me within 50 miles and 5 of them are horrible and 1 is just okay. I looked into them when I got my yorkie. Some areas might be better than others but I would look for a regular small vet office. |

| I used banfield in the past, and I was not impressed with them at all. First of all when I take my babys to the vet I am with them the whole time. I was asked to leave my dog and come back for her later when I went to Banfield. The vet never spent but maybe a minute if that in the room with me when I picked him up.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk and congratulations on becoming a Yorkie parent! I would skip Banfield and talk to friends and neighbors and do some research on the internet for recommended vets in your area. Best wishes!

| I would totally skip Banfield if I were you! My sister adopted two cats and was taking them to Banfield every week or two and paying out the wazoo because the cats kept getting sick. I finally convinced her to take them to my vet and they were cured after one visit! A lady working at my vet office used to work at the Banfield my sister had been using and told us flat out that they were supposed to get the animals "well enough" to go home but they fully expected to get them back again. Granted, she may have been an angry person and just trying to cause trouble for Banfield but it COULD be true. Like shady autocare places that fix what you need done and loosen something else so that you'll go back in another couple of weeks. It's been known to happen... =P

| WELCOME! Lots of great information here at YT. I agree with the previous posters - I would not consider Banfield from the things I have heard. Ask around and find a vet with a good reputation. YORKIES ARE THE BEST
