Heartbreaking that Ellie can't know one way or other if this is Bengi today!!! And surely these people will hold him as promised as you'd hope it's their goal to see to it that a little lost dog gets to his real home! If that's not their goal and they can't break a rule or two to be certain they aren't doing all they can to achieve this - they should be run out of the business of rescue. ANYONE wanting to get a rescue dog at their facility would understand that the dog they were hoping to get can't go by a certain date as it was being held until the possible real owner can get in. It would break my heart to think I had "rescued" a dog from a place that knew its possible real owner was out there begging for the organization to hold the dog I wanted until she could get there!

Hopefully, Daddy can get there Sunday and find it is Bengi waiting! I'm sure praying for that to happen.

Those 2 dogs in those side-by-side pictures could be twins if not the same dog except the rescue's eyes seem a little closer set.

If you have a smartphone try to take a video of him for Ellie...I don't understand the crazy rules, sure anyone can say something but if its Bengi and she has HIS paperwork and signs an affidavit etc., this is crazy, I question the rules at this place...rescue??? They should be working in concert with Ellie in trying to Id if this is Bengi...not against....I still say someone needs to get over there quickly...surely there is a way???

Hey guys; it's not him. I spoke to Mary at the shelter and I explained her about her toe nail where there's no toe, and she checked both paws and had somebody help her look; she said there is no extra nail there AT ALL.
Also, the black on the nose was a big concern for me. I asked her is this yorkie had for sure black on the nose and she said yes, he has a lot of black on the nose. I said, for sure that's not dirt? and she said no. Bengi did NOT had any black in the nose, you can look at his pictures, he didn't
I know he looks a lot like Bengi; but it's those little things that can confirm if it's him or not and also being there on that shelter far away from the area was a long shot.
This is so hard; I don't think I can take it anymore

I'm just in tears over this... This is just so devastating to read. I thought for sure we were going to hear good news. I don't know how you can bear it. But, I pray God gives you strength every day to not give up hope.

awwee. so sorry well I think everyone needs to keep looking. There is still hope! He could still be found. Ill never forget the time we moved when i was a kid and our dog went to our old home. WE looked for her for a long time. Then a old neighbor called and said. Ummm I have your dog. We moved to a differnet county, city. My mom says about 85 miles away. So dont give up hope. Hes out there wondering where you are. Lets try and get him back home where he belongs! Hugs

Wow, it's a long way from Orlando/Lake Buena Vista, but if this is Bengi then whomever took him must have decided to set him free. But what a horrible thing to do.

I definitely think this is one worth investigating -- resemblance is very strong.

I'm so sorry that it wasn't him, Ellie. We are all still praying and I am sure we are all still going to do our part to keep hunting.

DON'T GIVE UP! I know you are emotionally and physically exhausted, but don't give up. Just keep remembering all those news stories of lost dogs turning up years later and even across country and such. It's only been 2 weeks...keep hope and keep faith and hang in there. Hugs!!

Ellie, Please get in your car and go get him. They wont' let me see him or take photos!!! You're 2 hours away. Please don't miss this chance. I'm begging you. DOn't take the word of a volunteer about his toe/toe nail. This may just be an inexperienced kid at the shelter who looked at his paw, when you're baby's life is in their hands. I'm begging you to please make sure. YOu're 2 hours away!!! He goes up for adoption tomorrow.

PS, i live in Melbouren and I know first hand about this shelter. DON"T take their word!!
