I agree that Lexie is a pretty sweet girl and her mom is happy with her and loves her very much. That is as it should be. My problem is with the people who advertise something as rare-hopefully it is RARE- as in not produced often. I wonder how many people will pay that person that much money only to discover when the dog gets older it has some of the characteristics of one parent and some of the other..Can you imagine a puppy that looks like a red Poodle as a puppy then has the front legs of Poodle, back legs of Doxie, ears of something else.. I am not saying don't have mixed breeds as pets but I am saying get them from shelters where so many of these babies end up. Let us not put bucks in a "pups for bucks" pocket...

I would love to have A german Biewer but cant afford one right now. I know of two I would buy one from if I ever get there but I probably wont ever get there. I have my american yorkies. I would not own both together, to easy for the lines to get mixed. I love my american yorkies and would have to give them up. I hear it is common practice for breeders to mix the two breeds(yorkies & biewers) and make "hybrids" Therefore to me that is the same as mixing two different breeds and a registry has been made for it.

| Here are the pics I took of Lexi's "spots" on her skin under her white fur. Like I said, it's like a dalmation's spots. Isn't this odd?

[FONT=Lucida Console]Tammey, those "freckles" are actually called "ticking" and they are seen in piebald gene carriers. But, they don't mean that a Yorkie with ticking could be bred and produce partis. I do not know all of AKC's regs about colors/markings but there are some patterns they recognize on an individual basis.. I suspect there are more pups with white on them than we know cause they just look like very light marking on their chests or feet. I saw in another thread (I think) that some Yorkies are listed with red legs. I personally have NEVER seen red legs listed as a color or marking but no one has access to all of the registry records

sirius has the same spots on his chest as lexi. the white is not as much as lexi but he is only 9 weeks old. the white on his chest is v shaped. he also has white on his back legs. we think it gives him character.

I swear, I bet half of the Yorkies bred these days have some white and some ticking. Originally, the Paisley Terrier was heavy in the backgrounds and there were few other lines. People bred into the few and then branched out. The world is so small now, we are coming full circle. Just my opinion.. A friend sent an ad for a Yorkie puppy and in the background was a whire dog. She asked was it a parti or something and the breeder said yes. When, I checked out the site, the parti looked like the Chinese Cresteds they also breed. Sure looked like a mixed breed to me...
