YT 500 Club Member | Brushing Honey Teeth Hello everyone it is finally Friday . Today is the day that I want to start brushing Honey teeth. I am very nervous because Im not sure how she is going to act. Does anyone have an idea on the tooth paste I should use? Also I have seen that not everyone uses tooth brushes. Does anyone use anything different? |

| I would just start slowly. With a child's toothbrush, try brushing for just a little bit each day... Slowly increase the amount of time and praise/reward her for accepting the tooth brush in her mouth. I have heard good things about CET toothpaste. Good luck!

| I agree with Michelle- Start slow. The child’s toothbrushes are good because they are small- that is what I use for my Peanut ( He has a Peanut’s toothbrush) For the first time put some toothpaste on the brush and just let her smell it, lick it, bite it.. kinda let her do whatever she wants… Make sure you touch the toothbrush to her mouth, let her get use to that as well.. having it close to her- just to let her see what it is, taste the toothpaste… etc Give her a reward- always tell her she is a good girl and praise her.. Maybe do that for a couple times, then start putting the toothbrush in her mouth.. moving it around. Praise her, give her treats.. Hopefully she gets use to it and likes it- Some dogs don’t mind it at all, some dogs love to chew on the toothbrush, my Peanut hates it so I have to hold him down and brush him real quick! I don’t brush them as much as I should just because he doesn’t like it and I feel it doesn't really help. His mouth is so small it is so hard getting in the back- He gets dental procedures done about every other year to prevent any dental diseases- It is great you are doing it this way, hopefully you have good luck!!
