| Dental At what age should i take him to get his teeth pulled? And how can i get him to let me brush his teeth? It just does not happen! His breath smells bad too. I try to brush him but he gets mad and only chews on the toothbrush at best and licks the toothpaste. |

| How old is your baby? Usually when you take them in for their neuter- that is when the Vet will pull any baby teeth left. It is also a great time to Micro-chip. His breath probably smells because he is teething and there is blood.. Are you planning on getting him neutered? You can find toothpaste and a toothbrush at Petsmart/Petco. I will usually buy the kid toothbrushes at the store, they are smaller… As far as brushing his teeth you just have to get in there and do it, some like it some don’t- He will get use to it if you make it an everyday thing…

| Food doesn't really help the teeth. It is a matter of being Proactive and brushing them.. There is also a tarter spray you can get that will help. You can find it at Petsmart/Petco. For a food, I would recommend using a grain/bi-product free food.

| I agree with what the others have said. Have any puppy teeth left pulled at his neuter. I would start a dental routine... Brushing, the spray, whatever you can to keep their teeth clean. We get dentals every other year or so to stay on top of their teeth, but a lot of people do them less frequently because they brush their pup's teeth regularly.

YT 2000 Club Member | I started out slow with Prissy and Jasmine. Brushing their teeth only a couple of seconds at first, increasing the time as tolerated, while speaking to them in a calm low reassuring voice. Also choosing a flavor of tooth paste they enjoyed help a lot too. Mine like the peanut butter flavor tooth paste the best. I brush their teeth every day now and apply gel on their teeth to assist with break down of any plaque, which causes bad breath. Hang in there, with time and perseverance it does get better.
