Also keep in mind Rosen Hotels owns a couple of different chains franchise hotels... so I am pretty sure the owners of the Choice Hotels do not want their name tainted by this one location ;) |

Someone at the hotel responded to my posting on their facebook page. Who knows of a "pet detective" in their area? Sounds like they would be willing to pursue that option: https://www.facebook.com/clarionlbv/...t=feed_comment |

I just "shared" my comments about Bengi being lost, not much help by them looking for him, etc., on their FB page too! P. S. How is Bengi's name really spelled? I've seen it Bengi here AND Benji on FB. Thanks. |
The picture on her profile and her CraigsList post show BenGi. |

I got a responce from Clarion Hotels after I posted a comment on their page...telling me they looked and have reversed the charges for their stay, it was an oversight, blah, blah, how saddened they were by this 'unfortunate incident' and I should check out great deals they have for pets... Dont think they like the negative publicity...too bad for them! |
Emailed Mary. Tina Ashton and Harris Rosen responded. Steven whatshisname's email came back. Tina says she is responding on FB and Harry just sent into what they have done. Have they indeed comped all the charges, including little Bengi's? I have asked them to hire a scent dog and will ask Mary if they can hire a Pet Detective that specializes in finding lost dog. |
Be careful! According to what I've found there are scam artists who work this angle to rip off the unsuspecting :( This article talks about it but also lists reputable pet detectives by state: Find A Pet Detective: National Directory | Missing Pet Partnership |
Not to distract from Benji, but I'm livid right now! The pest control guy left not only forgetting to lock our gate but left it wide freaking open! I just chased Elvis and Scoobers 3 blocks. They are hone safe now, but... What the freak is wrong with people!!!!! I've worked in the service industry catered to some weird stuff and dealt with super annoying safety security protocols etc...pets security isn't that hard and yet people fail at it! |

Sending all my best thoughts for the safe return of Bengi ! |

That is so scary that these people come into our homes and have no clue how to act around pets in this day and time. What happened with yours is what happened to my sister's Silky, Mindy, back in 2003. TV repairmen, despite my sister telling him not to do it(!), left the sliding glass door and the backyard gate open as he was going out with her big TV while my sister was answering the phone. By the time she got the phone hung up & out front, Mindy was across the street. She called her and Mindy started to her, along came a policewoman in a patrol car and hit her right in front of my sister! The officer stopped, gathered her up on a board and took her straight to the vet while my sister rushed back in the house to call a ride. Sis had lost vision enough she couldn't drive so a neighbor took her. Mindy lived 3 days in ICU before passing. My sister mourns Mindy to this day. All because that TV man had no idea how to keep a customer's dog safe and didn't listen when he was told what not to do! Every business that deals with people in their homes - not to mention one that caters to pets in their facilities - should give pet safe lessons to their employees as a matter of good business practices and to be better neighbors to their customers! I'm sure glad Elvis and Scoobers are safe. |
You all should add tags to this thread so when people google this motel, this thread pops up and maybe someone will think twice about bringing their furbaby... What is the status of this case? What did the housekeeper say? Have they comped OP her money back? I saw that they charged her the pet price for the full stay...what a slap in the face. How could they? I want to help any way I can :( |
Exactly. So sorry for your sisters loss. I hope yhe repair idiot paid the vet bills in the least. Had I not asked and reminded him to lock and shut the gate twice dogs would have been kenneled. He assured ne he could handle it, what if it had been one if my kids or a weirdo had wondered in? I will NEVER TRUST this guy again! Yes training should be mandatory! Quote:

I'm in disbelief I haven't been on YT in a few months. I come back and see this thread. I've read every single post and even those to the Clarion Inn LBV FB page. Go YT'ers!!!! Let me just say, It's all I can do not to use profanity in what I'm typing here right now. I am livid for the OP. I mean LIVID!!!!!!! I just can not belive the obvious disregard for statndard operating procedures and guest requests. But then the ultimate "FU" was to charge you for your stay and for Bengi's stay. What the hell??!?!?!? These people have some nerve. I'm wondering if they figure you had your hands so full with your little ones, that you wouldn't make such a stink over your 3rd baby. Give me a break! Not only does this place not give a damn about it's visitors/guets (even the furry ones), but it sounds like they are only selfishly out to make money in every way possible. I'm so glad that the OP put the name of the hotel out there for every one to see. Why protect them when they gave less than a damn about you, your pet, and how your family would feel at the loss of your pet? My heart aches for you and your precious babies - who are running around looking for their lost pet under the bed. I'm going to keep watching/visiting this thread, and I'm also going to post something to their FB page. I'm so sorry that this has happened to you. I hope things workout for the best and Bengi comes home, but until then, I will be writing, calling, posting, and making things just as uncomfortable for Clarion Inn LBV as things are uncomfortable for you. Stay strong sweetie and we will try to do our part. *I'm sorry for the language used, and I hope I did not offend anyone. If I did, PLEASE accept my apology. Thank you. |
Ellie, I can't recall if it's been mentioned here before but if not, has someone suggested you contact Jane Velez-Mitchell on HLN? She is a big PETA type advocate for animals and dogs and she might do a story on it in the spirit of how socalled "pet friendly" establishments actually treat dogs and dog owners UNTIL a lot of ruckus is raised. Getting the story out there to her large petloving audience might reach somebody and could save somebody else's loved dog as people will likely all start taking extra extra precautions after hearing your story of Bengi! |
Someone give me thw LBV clarion inn facebook. Please. |

Has it been put on the news & radio yet ? |
This is a Winter Park area site but its close enough that I figured it did not hurt to get his info listed with them also Winter Park Lost Pets | List Your Lost Pet | List Your Found Pet | Winter Park | Florida |

CNN.com - Contact Us I found these. You could post on facebook, email them with your story about so-called "pet friendly" hotels and how it can really work in the world, despite the advertising and advertisements on the various websites! A piece on her show about this subject could get the word out about Bengi and the general situation at large if staff are not trained what to do and/or the company has no heart for actually working as hard as possible to locate the missing pet. |
