| Mine get professionally groomed 1-2 times a year. Normally in the fall when they will be wearing sweaters and coats daily so matting is a big problem for me is I don't get them trimmed down into puppy cuts.

Friends of mine told me horror stories so I'm not at all tempted to go to a groomer. I don't do a perfect job I do a decent job. I figure if I can cut my own hair, I can cut theirs. Besides they need to get used to being poked and prodded by mum. | |

| I have groomed my Baxter but I have a lot of trouble doing the feet, he doesn't like it and I am a little nervous doing it. Any suggestions? Thanks |

| YT 2000 Club Member | Be very careful if you take your Yorkie out to be groomed. There are some very unskilled groomers at the pet shops that will cut them too short, razor burn them or stick them in a hot dryer. I have a groomer come to my home. Linda is a friend and excellent groomer. She grooms my Spud and JoJo in our laundry room. I help her. Usually I will have them boys bathed and ready for a clip. I do not like to take them out nor do I trust just anyone clipping my dogs. Are my Yorkies spoiled? Yep, just can't be too careful today. Yorkies are darling, precious and can be hard to groom. I want someone who is gentle, firm, yet loving. My old poodle Tuffy must have gotten hit with something because he became real skiddish. That's when I started grooming at home. There are alot of traveling groomers or just do it yourself. Happy Grooming and Loving Yorkies! |

| Yes, I do it all except nail trims. (I've heard too many sad stories about mishaps with groomers).

| I groom Tibbe. Over the weekend he got a very short cut and his nails all done. He's happy to have his thick long hair gone! He just wallows around, glorying in his being able to feel things with his body. He frisks and runs around more, too, when newly cut back.

| Columbo has never been to a groomer. I use Wahl people clippers on his body and a Wahl mustache clipper for his ears. However, mostly I just use scissors and do him by hand. I've been grooming him either on the kitchen floor or on the couch for years, but I decided to order a small grooming table just this morning. Here's the one I ordered: Master Equipment Small Dog Grooming Table | Wayfair I'm hoping the table makes it easier. Columbo hates to be groomed and can be pretty naughty.
