I have tried many bug sprays and actually had one with deet in it when I got bit over 20 times. I also don't do well in massive heat like the summer so I am use to not going out much in the summer. I am on a daily medicine for my anxiety as well as an emergency fast acting medicine to take when needed. Callie doesn't seem to have anxiety and problems other then I guess now with the new house and it seems to be mostly better but she is very out going with people and other dogs never seems anxious or anything. I don't think me had feeding her makes her unhealthy. I think her needing me like that helps my depression (I am on medicine for that too) it gives me a reason to pull myself out of bed on days when I don't think I can because Callie needs to eat. I think if anything I am dependent on her.

I'm sorry your having such a hard time of it. We can't walk much in the summer here either, because the weather is just to hot, I try to make up for it the rest of the year. There are some places like Home Depot and Lowes that still allow dogs to walk in them. There are many many studies that show that exercise helps with anxiety and depression, walking would be good for both of you as soon as you can get out. Hope you are both doing better soon.

Thanks. She has some good coats so if we can get this storm behind us I do hope to walk her because it will be good for both of us and its a good way to meet our new neighbors too. She seems to be doing pretty good just hope this storm doesn't set us back but hopefully as long as we don't react she will be fine. I told my grandparents especially my grandma to try to be as calm as possible during this storm.

I hand fed Elvis for almost a year.

I bribed him with chicken bits and broth on kibble and it finally worked.

Taking her for more exploring though walks around the new neighborhood will help I think.

Getting Elvis tired(after his arthritis was dealt with) through increased exercise and 5 small meals a day helped.

Elvis eats on his own now.

Moving is very hard on Yorkies it seems. Pao took the longest time to adjust. We moved 3 years ago and I can't remember how long it took him to adjust but I don't think he was the same dog after that. We used to live in the heart of city and he was the sweetest dog but after we moved, he didn't like other dogs, hates kids etc and he still does. I do handfeed Pao, I don't really care what other people says..good or not...it is good if he eats that is all I know.
