Donating YT 4000 Club Member | a little rant about people and puppies... oh, it really bothers me that a couple with a 2 year old and she is pregnant 5 months along, think that they can adopt a 12 week old puppy, they asked for the smallest one . They seem very upset when i told them NO. so sorry but I think they don't need a 12 week old puppy in their home at this time, I know they are going to the pet store next but is nothing I can do about that, i try to explain to them that i thought it was a lot for her to handle but the hubby did not want to listen.. i will not sell to them at this point, I told them that in a couple of years maybe.. I think he got offended.. I will not put one of my pups in that situation. In my honest opinion is a lot for her to handle.. the husband told me that I am too picky with my dogs and i told him, yes I am and with that, I said good night and very politely hung up the phone... |

| for say NO. Too bad that he/they will probably get a pup anyway then get rid of the poor little pup shortly after the baby comes on the scene.

| Too right, Carmen - and thank goodness for breeders like you! I think people don't know/forget how much work a new puppy truly is. And also how much work a new baby is! The combination of the two.... Sally + Harry x |

| Good for you Carmen! You are right and are just trying to educate these people. They probably will go to a pet store and get a puppy but you are doing what is best for your puppies. |

| Good for you. I have no children at home, yet know this is a bad time for a puppy to come to our home, I might have to wait over a year. Folks need to do what's right for the dog and their children. Not just fill their 'wants'. Personally I don't feel a Yorkie is right for very young children. The dogs are so fragile. Well done. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Good for you! You are protecting your pup from the neglect that it most likely get. Some people just do not understand what it take to have a puppy. You can not put down food and they become a loving, well trained dog. |

| Good for you Carmen! My FIL told me yesterday he put a deposit on a male boxer but my MIL told him no way. He works and she would be completely responsible for feeding, walks etc...she told him at this point in her life she wanted time to her self and getting a puppy is not a good idea. I am so glad for the puppies sake she realized it.

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Good for you Carmen, they have no idea what they are in for with a new baby and a rambunctious puppy at the same time....too bad the education you gave them free of charge will probably be for naught!!

| Agree, good for you. Honestly they have no idea how much time it would take to raise your puppy Carmen. When I got Sophie Kate I was clueless (and will admit it now).

| Great job! That's the definition of a great breeder. I remember being pregnant with my first son and begged for a puppy. It was too young, cried for its mom. I called and asked to have him picked up. But I wonder what it is about being pregnant that makes you want one so bad. I think it's the need to nurture. Then when snugly baby comes there is no need for snugly pup who needed you so much. You are right, they will find another, then they will remember exactly what you said and know you were right. Have you ever noticed all of the ads saying We have a new baby, no time for dog'

| I'm sure they'll get a puppy from someone else that doesn't care as much as you do, and it'll end up at the pound or listed on Craigslist It's crazy how many people get rid of their pets when a baby or two comes along.

| Good for you! I wish more breeders were as picky as you... We would have fewer dogs in shelters.

| Carman you are right. You did not OWE them a puppy. Money does not equal a right to adopt your puppy. Period. You have the right to place your pups in the very best home you can find.
