My two won't be left tied up for any reason. If they can't go where I'm going they stay home. |
I don't take the dogs with me as much as I used to. It is a little bit more difficult with 3. We (hubby, too) do enjoy outings (with the threesome) to Petsmart, Tractor Supply, Petco, Moochie and Co., and also The Dog Bakery when we get the opportunity. Leave them tied outside? Would never chance getting them stolen.... I don't even leave them unattended outside here at home in their fence! |
The only place I take Roxie is Petsmart, other than that I leave her home when I run errands. We took her into Office Max once (which is right next to Petsmart) and they were cool with her being there. We were asked (rather rudely) to take her out of Party City one time, and after that I just decided it certainly wasn't worth the aggravation or embarrassment. I understand not all people are dog people and don't want to see dogs in the places where they shop. |
Really? This is even a question? My baby would not want to be tied out and left even if it was right outside my door, let alone in a strange place. Often when I am trying to decide to do something or not do something, I ask myself if I didn't have the ability to understand would I want it to happen to me. While I know my baby is very smart, I can't imagine what would go through her mind if I tied her outside the door and walked away. Please don't ever leave your baby unattended in a strange place. Please. |

I think overall dogs are happier at home than in a carrier or shopping cart, and certainly would never tie them to anything (that is absurd), and leaving them in the car is cruel and illegal. |
I have a service dog. From time to time I have been asked to leave because of her, even when I presented her credentials. Usually, I just make a note to myself that I will not spend money in that place in the future and leave. I do later sent information regarding service animal and ADA laws to the establishments manager. The only place I really challenged the rejection was at the post office where they pointed to the sign that said "seeing eye dogs only". My dog is a hearing dog. I did sic the ADA on them and within in weeks you could see the spot on the wall where the "seeing eye dogs only" sign had been ripped off. When I asked about it they apologized and told me they did not understand the ADA law. Happy that I could educate! |
That is awesome, Jay....so glad you are an advocate. By the way, how is Callie doing in this cold? Zoe hates it, I stepped outside this morning for her walk, she had her warmest sweater on and started shivering almost right away. New coats have been ordered, hoping that helps. |

Well, I live in much smaller country, I've never heard of a dog stolen here before, only farm dogs that live outside 24/7. If its a small store and I don't see many people around I sometimes tie him outside and just rush in buying what I need and out again. Stores here don't allow dogs, and OFCOURSE same goes under small and big dogs, dogs are dogs :) ! No matter what size. I though can bring them in to one small food store here, but no else I think. |
I would never leave my baby outside.. I hate to leave her home, but I rather home safe then stolen.. :aimeeyork |
