If a store doesn't let your baby in.... Do you...? When you are out and about with your baby without your vehicle.. If a store doesn't let you bring your little baby inside - whether it be in your purse or arms do you leave your baby tied outside or just go somewhere else? |
Here, in Miami? If I left my baby tied up outside she would not be there when I came back outside:eek: I have seen big dogs like that, but I would not do it with mine. |
Absolutely go somewhere else. I don't leave Georgie anywhere unattended including our backyard. |
I leave. This has happened to me twice. Once at Ulta and once at Home Depot. Both times Ruby was in her carrier. |
Some people are such ---..... sometimes... I went to the Metro grocery store at 4:30am we were out walking in the morning and there wasn't a soul in sight and this security guard came right up in my face as I was trying to enter the store with my baby in my arms telling me I had to leave my little 3lb baby outside like wtf? Then another time some Quickie convenience store guy wouldn't let me go in with my dog. Power trip! |
I recentley saw what looked like a Maltese tied to the front of a grocery store. It seriously freaked me out! I would most definitely go somewhere else |

I would never put myself in that situation to begin with. |
Many places allow us to sit outside with her and they even remember her name, bring her treats and bowls of cold water. She is adored by many...but I know better than to try to sneak her inside a grocery store or anywhere with food indoors. I would love to bring her around everywhere I go, but then those with great danes would expect the same treatment....I don't think they make purses that big! :p |

I wouldn't leave my dog outside but go elsewhere. I fully understand that many businesses don't want dogs inside and why and am okay with it. |

I understand this thread is more of a vent... I just find it so very odd when some people take their high paying jobs so seriously. I've been to many other convenience and grocery stores in the area that don't care. |

If I didn't have my carrier that hides her, I'd just go elsewhere. I've never had the chutzpah to just walk in anywhere with her in my arms. So I thought it kind of ironic, when my mum (whose not a dog person at all) picked up ZoE one afternoon this summer when I was stuck in a late meeting, and then stopped and did her shopping at the corner store, went in to the cable place to pay for her tv cable/internet and then stopped at the city hall to pay her water/sewer bill....all with ZoE in her arms. |
It's definitely situational... Just got back from a three day jaunt through the Great Smoky Mtns with my two boys. Gatlinburg was wonderful! Carried Maxie and led Marley into a restaurant that had two upper open decks. First guys said 'no' and then a manager came up and said we could sit on the upper deck. Beautiful! Boys were so well behaved. Maxie sat on my lap and Marley on a bar stool next to me. We had Corona's and fajitas and watched the crowds below. Everyone came up to visit or pet the boys. Maxie is not that friendly at home, but in neutral territory, he soaked up the adoration. Hotels that accept pets are not always great, but it's a trade off. We had a wonderful time. |
The only place that I was asked to leave was Target. I don't have a problem with being asked to leave except they were very rude about it. Other than that I try not to go into a place I know I shouldn't with them. I would never leave them unattended anywhere. |
I leave my KB bag in my car and pop them in their bag if we are going in somewhere that is not dog friendly. I would never leave them in the car or tie them outside. I would rather go somewhere else... |
I would never ever leave my baby tied up outside a store. People can steal them, feed them, hurt them, let them lose and things and its not a risk worth taking in my opinion. I think most dogs would rather be at home then tied up outside a store with no comfy place to lay and no water or food. |

I love my dog but I know there are places where he isn't allowed and shouldn't be allowed. Common sense. |

I would never leave Columbo tied up anywhere. He means too much to me to chance something happening to him. I also keep his black sherpa bag in the car. It looks like a purse/bag and you really can't see the mesh unless you are looking for it. That said, I always leave him at home anytime shopping in town. So the sherpa bag is only for times when we've traveled somewhere with him and it's either too hot in the car or parking is where I can't see the car and don't feel comfortable leaving him alone. I admit to traveling long distance and stopping for food (when too warm to leave in car) and I've snuck him in his bag into restaurants. If we can't find a restaurant with outdoor seating, then we pick somewhere that's busy and loud and hopefully has a booth. If someone where to ask me to leave, I'd do it immediately. But no one has ever even noticed, probably because I'm so discrete and not openly flaunting him. We are also very lucky in my town because there are many many very good restaurants with outdoor seating that will openly let you sit with your dog. They even provide water bowls, etc. There are usually one or two well behaved dogs in every one. But then we have been traveling and gone to restaurants in other states in the exact same type of outdoor setting and they will say sorry, no pets allowed at all. And those towns have been hard to find a place other than sandwich shops with outside benches to eat with him. I find that very interesting. |

To add to this... Inside a car, alone, regardless of weather... |
While many stores allow dogs stores that serve food risk a health code violation and fine. I don't know about others but I don't carry 10k on me to pay the fine for them...I go elsewhere when I have my dog(s) or I leave my dogs at home when going to those places. |
I should add I used to take Elvis to the gardware store all the time. One day they said he couldn't come in I was so shocked! Then they told me they had been warned by the health department because they give away free coffee cookies and popcorn! We took Elvis home I'm afraid to leave him in the car after an increase in thefts, even for a short stop and optimal weather. |
I dont take mine with me and no I would never even consider tying them outside while I went in somewhere. There are plenty of restaurants with outside seating if you want to take them with you if you are out walking them and want a bite to eat. I see no reason why someone would need to take a dog to a grocery store or even the mall or places like that |
