| It's straight out of Hitchcock! A Bluejay flew really close this morning after I read this earlier & I'll admit I ducked. All these hawk reports has me listening for flapping wings!

| I agree...what's us with the hawks! That's my concern, too...we have huge trees covering the yard. That was scary, for sure, and I, too, am glad everyone and everything is okay. Still, after that, worry is peaked since their safety is a high priority. I hope that was the exception...and never happens again!

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I am so glad all of them are safe. [QUOTE=chattiesmom;I don't think anyone is safe from hawks, owls, and coyotes anymore. We have destroyed so much of the habitat for their natural food sources that they have had to seek other food sources to survive. It is so very sad... Hawks are such magnificent animals. It is so sad and VERY SCARY for small dog owners that they have to resort to seeking our beloved pets for food.[/QUOTE] I so agree. The habitats for these animals are getting smaller and smaller. We have hawks sitting on power lines now looking down at the thruway looking for mice and other critters. It is sad. They are magnificent raptors. |

I agree! We still have lots of open land and plenty of natural prey that it is very unusual for them to hunt for prey in the city, but still need to be vigiliant about them. I also think that once your pet is spotted they'll keep coming back. I don't know if birds really hunt more in preparation for winter, but maybe that has something to do with it??? There's been so many. So glad you got your babies inside.

| Sounds terrific! A little shield over the neck/back extending down the sides so the claws can't dig in and a little helmut should do it! I'd put some on Tibbe if there were such and we lived where they haunt!!! You need to look into to designing and making some!

| That is so scary!! This is a picture of one of the hawks that were stalking Bailey. There were actually two of them. I scooped him up so fast. He is not allowed in the yard unless he is with someone..I'm about to get a sling shot!! lol

YT 2000 Club Member | I am so thankful your precious Yorkies are ok. Good thing you were watching them and didn't leave them out there alone. I always put the light on and watch my boys when they go outside to do business. Good job taking care of them. Sandy |

| Can we buy this lol. I would in a minute after today. It is hard to watch all 5 of them at once and my yard is huge so I am resorting to taking shifts to let them out, 3 go first and 2 go the next time. My yard is covered by trees so I was really lucky today. When my Grand daughter got home from school I told her about it and we were out there bagging all the leaves and one came back, she said look Mom is that it. Scary to think they may be hunting my babies.
