The great thing about this site is everyone loves Yorkies so no post is too small. Posting helps me with frustrating situations because no matter what has happened, someone here has gone through it and is willing to help.

I use a play yard for Maxximus with plastic on bottom, newspaper then potty pad. He has food, water, toys and bed there. Low enough for me to get him in and out but he doesn't jump out or climb out. I break it down to four panels to fit in bedroom then bigger for other parts of house or if outside but working or need him safe in one spot. I found at Walmart in baby section as I was in a pinch and couldn't find Xpen.

I started off by putting Tucker in an x pen right next to my bed. I lined the floor with pee pads and put his crate in the middle with the door off. Everytime I caught him aslepp outside of the crate, I put him in it. If he began whinning in the middle of the night, all I had to do was put my hand down beside my bed. I would tell him to go "night night" My presence and being able to touch him seemed to help. Very shortly, he was sleeping in his crate all by himself. At this point, I began putting him in his crate, door on(still right beside my bed so I could stick my fingers inside and let him know he was ok). He has done well in crate ever since

As far as potty training, I remember thinking at one point....What have I done!?.... It honestly took me close to a year and a half to trust him, and even still (he is 5) I dont totally trust him and he is crated when I'm not home. I fianlly housebroke him by putting him on a leash and clipping the leash to my belt. This way I was able to catch him everytime he had an accident. If he wasnt attached to me, he was in his crate.

Don't get discouraged! They will bring you lots of love. Also, know that many people on here have gone through the frustration of housebreaking and we understand

You've been given lots of great advice to follow. It will be hard for a couple months, but if you stay on top of them, anticipate their potties and don't give them the opportunity to have accidents, they won't learn the wrong behavior. It will all pay off and you will have well trained pups. I started with crating when I couldn't watch Columbo's every move, then moved up to a playpen to give him more room when I wasn't home.
Also, you mentioned they are now in your bed. We let Columbo sleep in our bed. He used to snuggle in so tight, it was hard to sleep well, so we got him a small dog bed which sits on our king size bed at the bottom of the mattress. He's slept in it for years now. There is a foot board, so he won't fall off accidentally. He loves it, is part of the pack, but not disrupting our sleep. Just a thought if you decide to allow them to stay in your bed. Columbo did start out in a crate beside the bed when he was young, though. Good luck, you are definitely going to have so much fun with them when they are a bit older! However, they are just little babies right now and have lots to learn, just like a child.
BTW, Statesville is the friendliest town I've ever been in. My son's car broke down on the interstate a couple years ago on the way to the ACC championship. (Go VT!) He was towed to Statesville and everyone was so nice. They even repaired his car on a Sunday!!!

Congratulations on your two babies. I will be bringing home 2 girls soon. They have the same dad but different moms. One is traditional that is Paisley. The other one is chocolate and is Angel. We are all ready for them.
