| Puppy Paws Silky/Cottony I've been researching silky vs. cotton and still haven't figured out which one my baby is.... I'm leaning toward cotton today, but hoping it's just too soon to tell with her puppy coat (she's not quite 4 months old) -- I'll love her either way, but I'm afraid of taking care of a cotton coat. I ordered her a Madan Pin Brush from Top Line Pet last night and came across this bit of info on their website: SINGLE COATED BREEDS How to tell if your puppy will have silky or thick/ cottony hair: Look at their paws. If it's thin & sparse, s/he will most likely have silky hair that grows slowly. There are those that have what's called 'modified' hair. That's when it's mixed w/silky & cottony hair that tends to be on the thin side. They will tangle in the high rubbing areas. If it's thick & full, s/he will most likely have thick cottony, possibly tangles easily hair that grows fast & hair doesn't shine. There are also those with thick silky hair that doesn't tangle easily, their hair shines. Just wondering if this has proven true for those of you who know whether your yorkie is silky or cotton and remember what their paws looked like as pups? The fur on Audrey's paws is quite thick. And just because no post is complete without a cute picture I snapped this this morning of my silly girl fast asleep (hopefully I attached it right). |

| Jewels has never matted in her paws even though if her body gets long it matts so I dont know how accurate it is determining it by the paws. They have good descriptions of the coat types though
