Harley has a black sprig of hair on each side of his face that I think is adorable. I was wondering if they would likely stay darker than the rest. It's black on the ends but that golden brown closer to the roots. I think you can see it in the picture. Also his black hair is silvery near the roots. Will it eventually be all be the silvery color? I know they don't stay black but I don't know exactly how or when the color changes take place.

I have 3 yorkies. Sadie, our first, stayed black and gold. Lillie, our second girl, turned silver and tan. Bentley, our new little guy...only a year old....has a very light tan silvery head and his body is very ashy looking. I am ASSUMING he will turn silver. His mom and Dad are silver...not sure though...he is still changing

It sounds like hes going Gold and silver but they can change several times

If his hair is black on the ends and golden at the roots then I would guess that those hairs are in the process of changing to gold right now.

It will grow out and he will change colors for quite a bit longer... My male kept changing until he was 3.
