| My dog poo on carpet When Terry's out for talk, he always pee&poo on grass. But, when he's in house, he will pee or poo on carpet even if the pee pad's very close by. Terry's 5 month now. Is it normal? And, will the situation get better when he's mature? |

YT 1000 Club Member | He should be well on his way to "not" dong that by now. I'd give a little scold first, then... Blot or pick up the debris, move it to the Potty Pad, place it and praise him. He should associate the praise with the "right place". Do that again if necessary, and leave the debris there for a day or so, where he can definitely associate that area as being the right one. I used a Paper Towel to either Blot up urine, or wrap solid waste in, where it just wouldn't be laying there exposed. You can place it near a wall where it won't be stepped on. He'll know what's in the Paper Towel. There are also some "Scent Neutralizers" (spray) which you can use after cleaning those "wrong" areas.

| Mine are outdoor trained. When I can't watch them during the housebreaking phase they are confined. I teether puppy to me- They tend to not potty right in front of you because then you can correct them during the act. Mine get potty parties in the yard- I look like a nutcase but they do potty outside like I want. I believe potty pads confuse but that is my opinion and my opinion only. I would make sure to clean the accident spots properly with a pet enzymatic accident like "Natures Miracle" Best of luck with your pup though.
