we trim their coats, but if you let them grow they keep growing, is hair and it grows..LOL, breed yorkies with short legs, that is an adventure of its own, well I guess the lesson is we love our dogs no matter what breed they are and with silkies and yorkies the line is thin and fuzzy..:D:p
people see what they need to see in their pets, now if I can convince the judges to do that I would be super happy..LOL

They're very cute...I actually saw this episode on TV...great to watch.

Brody is a Yorkie, but he goes into a 'point' position, too...with the little paw raised. I wonder if the Silky gets it from its Yorkshire Terrier heritage.

Sadie is 100 percent Silky but she does not have a dark coat, she is Gold. She use to have some dark but it is all gone now.

Silkies and yorkies are so closely related that sometimes even the trained eyes have found it hard to assest. DNA is the only final proof and even that, is based on finding how much yorkshire terrier and australian terrier is in it...:)

Maybe I'll call him a Yilky. Or a Sorkie.

DNA test are about 65 I think most humane societies are selling the inexpensive at home low range kits as a fund raising item many vets offer the full range of them from the same price up to about 200terry which shows several generation breed pedigree.
