| Hi Im new! need help with food. Hi, my name is Debbie and I joined this board a couple weeks ago where Iv'e learned so much from all of you already! I know this has probably been asked a million times but for some reason Im not able to search my question. Anyway, I have my baby on blue buffalo but she refuses to eat the black kibble that has a lot of the nutrients. Can someone please recommend a good food? Thanks |

| Hello and welcome! If you go into the Health and diet you will find a lot more about food- You can also read up on 5 star foods here http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html Peanut wouldn't eat those life source bites either He would leave them all over the house.

| Well Peanut has been on a lot of food- Right now we are currently feeding Brother's Allergy Formula. We were on Acana Ranchland for like 2 years until they changed their formula and it didn't agree with Peanut. You will get a lof of different opinions about food on here. Different people like different foods. The only thing that matters is what you feel about the food and how your baby does on it. Do some research get some samples, see what your baby likes, research the Company and Google everything Very important what works for my baby might not work for yours just keep that in mind. You can also read Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble see what the professionals are saying. That is how I found Brothers-

| We actually switched Hope to Blue Buffalo after her trainer recommended it. She takes the lamb and oatmeal and prefers it. I've heard Yorkies can be picky eaters....hope you find something that works well for your baby. |

| We tried the BB when Ziva was a pup- she spit out all the bits too! We fed Solid Gold Wee Bits for awhile because she liked tiny kibble- Didn't know about crushing it back then. We have since switched to Taste of the Wild, pacific stream and now feed Earthborn Holistics-coastal catch and grainfree Fromm Tunalini. We have an older dog that needs grainfree, fish protein only and it is easier to feed all three the same food. |

| Thank you so much for your replies! My Yorkie is Sophie, she is almost 5 months. I got her at 16 weeks so I haven't had her long. She is such a great addition to our family. I will post pics soon as I figure out how. |

| I agree, we all prefer different things for our dogs! My dog was picking certain bits of his food out, and my vet suggested adding a tiny bit of water to the kibble. It creates a smell, and mixes the tastes together. He wolves it all down! I don't add water every time, as I like him to chew too, but it definitely had improved his desire to eat all of it. |

| Callie would not eat the black ones either. There are a lot of good foods out there I personally prefer grain free because my dog seems to get very itchy when she doesn't eat grain free and if you don't go grain free try not to get one that has corn as a top ingredient. I like Blue Buffalo and Wellness because they are good foods and most dog places carry them. When you find a food you like its also very important to do research on the company. I would not go with a diamond food because they had recently had a massive recall yet a lot of there food are rated high. I would also stay away from Purina because they are the makes of the Waggin Train chicken jerky that is killing and making so many dogs sick yet they wont pull it. Finding a food you and your dog like can sometimes be tricky.
