| Weird Today noon Happy was playing with his cup and fishy, all of a sudden he let out a cry of pain. It was like as though he was in deep pain. The same thing happened around half an hour back when we were having our dinner. He was just lying on the floor waiting for momma and dadda to finish food. All of a sudden he cried aloud. We checked him thoroughly but did not find anything wrong. We suspected that his paws may be hurting since he got his nails trimmed last week. But everything just looks fine. And he did not exhibit any symptoms of pain till now. There are no worms, he eats well, goes for potty, drinks well. Everything seems just to be perfect, but we could not find an answer for his pain.. We are planning to take him to vet next week for his blood work and are thinking to ask vet to check him once. (We have put him on milk thistle since 3 weeks and is doing well on it. Vet asked us to bring him after 4 weeks for blood work.) But waiting for one more week seems like forever. Please suggest if you were in similar situations before.

| I'd put a call in to your vet tomorrow about that. Crying out in pain for no obvious reason is not normal behavior. His feet should not still be bothering him from a nail clipping a week ago. You said in another post he had been 'itchy'. Any specific area?

| I've had 3 Yorkies and never had one cry out in pain like this. Please take him into the vet and get a check-up, maybe some labs now rather than waiting and even a full body x-ray. If it turns out to be nothing, great. Yes, you'll have spent some time and money but you'll have a nice baseline of labs and even an x-ray for any needed comparisons later in life and you'll have paid for peace of mind. If they find something early, though of course I pray they don't, it will be more than worth it that you got on it early. But to have a young dog cry out like that is unusual in my experience is worth taking seriously. There are some things dogs can have that cause sudden, severe pain you need to know about ASAP in the unlikely case he's fallen victim to one of them so get him in for a vet check. And be pro-active should your vet pooh-pooh the need for a thorough work-up. I've heard some stories about those who wish forever they had pressed their vet when the dog's issues were not taken seriously early on.

| We would be calling vet tomorrow morning, its late night here in Vancouver. Happy is itchy around thighs and little bit around ears. Vet said its fine and there is no major issue with it. He just said that RC Hepatic may be causing him itchiness. He is sleeping now like a child with Momma, he does not look to be in pain right now. But sure his cries are worrying us a lot

| Update.. We had called our vet, but our regular vet was off today. So another vet checked him at the hospital and said Happy is fine. He was of the opinion that Happy might have constipation. He asked us to monitor his food and if problem persists to return for some more tests. Since Happy should get blood work done next week, he wants us to monitor Happy till that time. There were no episodes of his crying today. Happy was playing like normal, and we had been for a 45 min walk and he did well. Hoping that Happy continues to be in good health..
