Senior Yorkie Talker | Harnesses and tags? And Belly bands? Gabby is currently wearing a harness I purchased from a petstore and it doesn't fit her. XS is too small, S is too big. So it just doesn't stay on right. I found a pattern and am going to make one (or two or three) in HER size today. I was wondering what you all do about tags. I don't want to ever take her (or Harley) away from home without their tags on but it's hard to take the tags on and off. Should I make one "leaving home harnesses" that the tags stay on to wear away from home? Or is there some trick I haven't figured out? I want to make my own belly bands for Harley. Anybody know where I can find a pattern? Also, can someone explain more about them? I'd never heard of them until I joined YT. Hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day!

| I use this thing called a Rubit Dog Tag Clip. It's like a teeny tiny carabiner for dog tags. It makes changing collars or harnesses super easy. I found mine in a small pet boutique in Philly, but I think you can order them online. |

| My dogs always wear smooth lightweight collars with a small aluminum info tag and a bell. We have 5 people in and out and the pups love to follow anyone out.(I have since gotten nice wooden barrier gates around the front door to prevent escape) Their rabies tag/ license are on their harness for walking. I like Chattiesmom's silk harnesses/collars best- they don't matt or break their hair. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | We use Rubit clips here too (I thought everyone did ) I found ours in a local store several years ago when we first got Tuffy. Heck, I couldn't do without them, especially once it cools off here & my 2 insist on being dressed every day. Here's the link with an online store & a locator if you prefer to shop offline. Rubit Carabiner Dog Tag Clips Sorry, can't direct you on the belly bands since we don't use them but I'm sure those that do will pipe in here before too long.

| Callie always has a collar on with her tags on it but we never ever hook the leash to the collar. I would not be comfortable with her not having tags on all the time and a harness seems uncomfortable to wear all the time and can cause matting and hair loss if left on all the time.

| I'm probably in the minority (but maybe not), but all of Abby's tags match her vests and dresses, except the ones I got when she first came home. Last year I found Tucker's Tags, and the girl will paint a design on the tag to match, i.e., flip flops on a tag to match a vest with flip flop material, flower to match, animal print pattern, etc.-the possibilities are endless). I just take a picture of the vest or dress and email it to her. Also, I do have the cheaper, colored, double-sided, engraved aluminum ones that I bought before I found Juli at Tucker's Tags, and I buy the ones you can pick your font and have a cute graphic on the front with the name too, with the phone numbers on the back...I have a lot of tags (won't even admit to how many I have), but I love them, and I didn't want to have to change tags! I'm happy that Abby has so many clothes that I hardly ever have to take them off to wash the clothes. I'm anxious to see how big my new little girl is going to be so I can get her outfits and tags to match!!! |
