♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | ![]() Hmmmm 200.00??? JMO I wouldn't...frankly that price scares me...vet costs eventually...no health guarantee? Nope I'll pay more for a healthy pup with a health guarantee, again that's me. I too bought from a byb (unknown to me at the time), but in hindsight there were many red flags...no papers, no health guarantee, the breeder was breeding more than one breed. Immaculate home, saw both parents, but nothing written on paper. And a hefty price tag...I got lucky...both of mine are healthy and are now over a year old. I decided not to tempt fate again and researched like crazy before purchasing no. three. The result was Jersey who is due to come home next week...shots up to date, written health guarantee, microchipped and full support for the life of the pup. Forgot full disclosure from her vet, she also has an open door policy..'come by anytime'. I fell in love with this breeder! I took the advice I learned from this site and the wonderful people on here that told me buy your breeder first. My researching took me almost six months...AND I am payin the same price that I had paid for my first two.....sorry to sound harsh but you get what you pay for. With no health guarantee you may be setting yourself up for heartbreak/and or high vet bills.

| ![]() Hi and welcome. I would be concerned with the price. Breeders spend a lot of money from what I have learned. Vet care , food and other necessities. A $200 price tag is like giving away a yorkie pup. I would be more concerned with the health. Are the puppies mixed? There is nothing wrong with mix breeds and I love them all!. Do some more research before making this decision. I would have the puppy checked by a vet of your choice and get some health guarantee from the breeder. Good luck and I hope it works out. |

| ![]() 16 years ago I bought my Presley from a breeder. He was one of two puppies left. I paid $275. At that time, I had no clue that breeders offered guarantees. But, maybe this is something new. For 7 years we had no problems.. Healthy as a horse. Unfortunately we spoiled him rotten and fed him from the table and he developed Pancreatitis. He still suffers bouts from time to time. This I blame myself for - if I had fed him the proper food he would have been a dog without any issues. 16 years aint too bad for a $275 pup. You just never know what your going to get. |
