Stewie was less than that price and he is an AKC registered pure bed. I wouldn't pay that for a mix. There was a Yorkie/Maltese mix who was euthanized a few months ago in a Central Illlinois shelter because no one wanted her. I don't agreee w/ breeding mixes and wouldn't pay a person who breeds them anything more than a nominal adoption fee. |
Staci -- We live in Branson....not far at all. :) |
1 Attachment(s) Well we decided to get the Yorktese afterall, here she is I think the picture is mislabeled because she is the one on the right. |
they are cute! |
I might be giving away my age, but, when I was young and dogs were mixed they were hard to give away. I don't understand the designer dog trends at all. Call me old fashioned, but I can't see paying more than an adoption fee for them. Not to offend anyone, I know that you can get a better dog for allergys etc. I just don't see the justification in the price when they are not purebred. |
Hey Chad in Iowa, This is iowarobin in Clarion. Hope I didn't offend you, if it the perfect dog for you, who cares how much you spend. I guess you could spend your money on something that wouldn't give you near the love back. Good Luck. |
I'm not offended, I was having trouble justifying the cost myself. But then I realized that it really didn't matter anyhow wether it was a purebred or not. It's not going to be a show dog or used for breeding or anything like that just a pet. We have a Purebred Yorkie already and wanted to get him a playmate. Just because it is not a purebred Yorkie or Maltese dosent make it any less of a dog in my eyes, it comes from healthy purebred parents on both sides so it seems like its just as good as a purebred to me. Lots of purebred dogs today originated as a mix, the silky terrier was a mix of a Yorkie and an Australian Terrier, Now its a AKC recoginized breed. |
Glad your not mad Chad...I have 2 mini wiener dogs and a cocker spaniel. One of the minis loves my Baxter and they run and play and everything. It is fun to have them have playmates, Baxter was playing with my daughters 42 lb golden lab this weekend, tug of war with a nylabone. They really think they are big dogs don't they. It was cute. Good luck on your pup! |
What a cute little one! Congrats! We are enjoying Ozzie, our Yorktese, so very much! I think he shows the best of each breed. Have you already gotten her? What's her name? |
Before I got Reese I would have said that was way too much, but now that I have my puppy, I think they are priceless - and I would pay that to have a cute little puppy who I can love and will love me back ! :-) |
People are charging upwards of $1000 for all sorts of mixed breeds, mostly that happened by accident, and then give them fancy schmancy names thinking the general public is an idiot and will pay that much for the puppy. For a mixed breed that is not registered with papers or anything? I would say that is too much. The most I would pay is about $100 - $150 to cover the vet charges for raising the puppy. But that's my opinion. |
I have a mixed breed she is 3/4 yorkie and 1/4 lhasa apso and I paid either 200.00 or 250.00 for her......I don't recall but I was going to spend 400 on a shih tzu and she was killed at the breeder. Then I was set on a yorkie-poo and when the puppies where born the breeder raised the price from 250 to 450 because they had the yorkie coloring! Well that was out of the question-- then I found my baby for I think 200 so I was a very happy camper! Good luck- my advice to you is to spend what you can afford- mixed bred or not! We all love our babies on here some are the best of the best and some of us have "mutts" but we love them all the same! You honestly can't put a pricetag on that but spend what you can afford. |
Has ther term "Papers snob" been used yet??? Papers dont always mean it's a better dog than a dog without them. I dont understang why some people are so hung up on papers. We will get a Pedigree and copied of the registration papers of both parents, but since it's a mix breed we can't get registration papers for the dog itself. Unless we decide to go with a registry that registers mix breed dogs, but that dosent really mean anythig anyhow. |

Just checked out the site and thought the pups were cute but was taken aback by their prices... Puppies will range in size from 3-5 pounds Females $1,800.00 Males $1,400.00 And also this comment... While there may be other Morkies around, our Morkies are cuter because we start with superior parents to make top of the line babies. Just ask any of the jealous hags in YT forums! ...what's up with the "hags in YT forums" comment? :thumbdown Nice way to attract business  |
