My furkids Donating Member | hair under feet anyone here have an issue, with the hair growing under your pups feet and in between their toes? My little Bentley's hair grows so fast I feel I'm cutting it every week! If I don't, when he runs around playing he slips all over the place..I wish they made something that you could put on pads of their feet so they would slip and slide! I don't have carpets, thanks to the furbutts! so all hard wood floors...

| There are 5 dogs here. I trim between their pads every other week and nails once a month. The hair on the bottom of the feet is common in most toy breeds. There are Chi,yorkie, poodle and poms here. |

| Cali has that problem also. One of the people who shows dog told me about a clipper I have been using that really works well. I got it a Sally's Beauty Supplies- it is call the Peanut. I was told not to get the cordless, So I got the one with the cord but wish it was cordless. Works well though. I am cautious with it but have never had a problem.

My furkids Donating Member | I groom the pups myself so I have clippers. this is what I use His little paws get so fluffy! I usually bathe them every couple of weeks...thats when I trim their nails and under feet. I will check into that peanut...sounds like it may be easier than the big clippers...although they work!

| Yep, I have the peanut too, and it works ok. I do trim at least every other week. |

| I have seen some socks that have little things on the bottom that keep them from slipping.

| My Tibbe has that hair there so I keep it clipped so it won't spread his little toes, pads apart and maybe hurt. He doesn't like to have the hair there clipped back and I don't like to do it but nothing else to do. Poor babies take a lot of fussing with to keep them in healthy, comfortable shape from bathing, brushing, clipping, toenails, brushing teeth, checking for fleas/ticks, cleaning ears, pulling ear hair, keeping eyes examined and free of discharge, clipping around anus, etc. Seems like I'm always "doing something" to Tibbe!

| I use the wahl peanut to cut it as short as possible. It annoying but Elvis cleans his feet a lot. Princess my mini schnauzer its a nightmare with her double coat I have to use monistate cream in summer and keep it dry and short ALL the time.

| I also trim paw pads whenever they need it...the hair grows fast enough that I could trim once a week, but usually it is every 2-3 weeks before the pads lose grip on my smooth floors. I have trimmed with small, sharp-cutting scissors, but normally I trim with an Oster Finisher trimmer, and I have some small cordless Wahl trimmers, too...one is rechargeable with a swivel head, and one is really tiny...pocket/palm-sized...and quiet. It is not just Yorkies, though...I puppy sat my friend's Shih Tzu a week ago, and her pad hair growth was so much her pads were completely covered...all 3 got a paw pad trim so they could get some traction action for their rough-house play time!

| I donno if Callie would keep them on either but we are moving to a house that all the rooms beside the bedroom are wood so I am thinking of trying them at some point.

I see this with some of my long hair cats...the hair grows kind of up and out the front of the paw in a little fluffy poof. I don't trim it because I like my hands attached and my arms fringe-less. The smooth floors slow them down but I don't think the hair is an issue for them.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | We keep Katie Scarlett's trimmed as well. I did get her some little socks with those things on the bottom to keep from slipping but I cannot get them to stay on her feet. They slip off. I thought about getting some house slippers to try.
