| ![]() My little girl is about 13 weeks and the hair on her face is getting long enough to get in her eyes. I keep putting it out of her eyes but when she looks at me 5 minutes later it's back in her eyes. What can I do to keep it out of her eyes? |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | ![]() Yeah, until it gets long enough to put in a topknot, it's an awkward stage. I recently discovered those small plastic hair clamps that you can find at a baby store. They can clip smaller bunches of hair lower on their forehead. That might help. Here's Jillie with a blue clamp on.

| ![]() I put Emma's hair up when it was really short. She didn't like it, she would drag her head or rub it against the furniture... what a stinker. Now she is mature enough to leave it alone if I tell her to... but it seems like she is a lot more agreeable if I part the top knot and gently twist the hair into piggy tails. That way you can see her sweet face and the two tails are by her ears so the hair just flows down the sides of her face. Hang in there, she will grow up way too fast! Emma's Mom |

| ![]() That is exactly what I did too. I used clips then moved to scrunchies. I found some clips at Petco. Here is Mikki where the clips from Petco. They are very girly. ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Thanks for the ideas. I think I'll try to see if i can get her to be okay with having it up. My husband keeps telling me not to put it up and put bows and stuff in her hair but it is right in her eyes and it bugs me. So we'll have to see how it goes. |

| ![]() I used some of those 'butterfly' clamps, too...left over from my granddaughter when she was a baby. They didn't hold too well in Brody's super silky hair, though...they seemed way too heavy for the amount of hair and had no grip. Also, I found some latexy-rubbery-coated metal 'snap' clips that were really tiny...the kind that have a little curve in them and you press on them to 'bend' them and they snap-click-spring open...one way to open them and the other way to close them. They were less intrusive for Brody 'cuz they were very lightweight, and the rubbery coating held the hair with a decent grip as long as there was not a lot of hair. I never leave metal ones in their hair unless I'm with them, though...too scary for me. ![]()

| ![]() Those little clamps may help keep the hair out of her eyes but be very careful that you only leave them in while you are watching her. They are a choking hazard. If you do not want a topknot then you can consider taking her to a good groomer who can trim her for you. The thing with that is that you have to keep doing it frequently or the hair will grow back and start poking her in her eyes. These non latex grooming bands can be put on the front of the face until the hair gets longer and then can be used further back. You usually need one on each side when they are pups to keep the hair out of the eyes if you decide to let it grow. Personally, I think girls need bows but I guess it's a girl thing. ![]() |

| ![]() Here is Brody with a blue butterfly clip...which stayed in his hair for a couple of pix before he shook it out.

| ![]() Lily and Molly are the same. They hate anyhing in their hair and help each other to pull them out. I'm hoping as they get older they will be more tolerant. I hear Cindra gel can help keep the hair back.
