Those little clamps may help keep the hair out of her eyes but be very careful that you only leave them in while you are watching her. They are a choking hazard.
If you do not want a topknot then you can consider taking her to a good groomer who can trim her for you. The thing with that is that you have to keep doing it frequently or the hair will grow back and start poking her in her eyes.
These non latex grooming bands can be put on the front of the face until the hair gets longer and then can be used further back. You usually need one on each side when they are pups to keep the hair out of the eyes if you decide to let it grow. Personally, I think girls need bows but I guess it's a girl thing.

If you start out putting them in fairly loosely and then distract the puppy with some play they usually forget they are there. It takes practice and training. A treat after putting them in is very helpful as well.
