What did I do??!!

Ok I figured I better do something with Lillys ears and I taped them up.. I had taped them before but it was real important to me, so I didn't do it as much as I should have. I realized the other day that she is almost 6 months old and my son wanted her ears to stand so I taped them again.. After about 4 days I pulled the tape off and this is what I got...
Now what?? LOL
I guess its back to the tape?? Sometimes the right is is up and somethings its down!!

Oh and yes, she has some very big ears, I guess I never realized her daddy had some big ears

Lilly is as adorable as she can be no matter which way her ears are heading. She's just precious!

I wish I could give you some advise but am definitely not an expert on ears. I was going to say maybe you could shave the hair off the tops to eliminate excess weight, but her ears are ready look tipped at the end.

Either way, she's just a sweetie pie and I love her expression on her face looking up at you in the first pic.

I think some are destined to have ears that just flop over and maybe at 6 months old - just let them grow as they are naturally ? She won't mind and I THINK - (don't quote me) but... maybe at this age they may not stand on their own no matter what you do ? I think she looks adorable either way -

I was wondering if you knew the latest possible time a yorkie's ears will come up? lucky is 8 months now and still cute and floppy.I taped them before but he would always get the tape off. the breeder told me not to worry about til around 6 months but most peoples yorkies on this site are up by 8 weeks. do you think its too late for his ears to stand? should i stop getting the hair shaved off and let it be?

I think the floppy-down ears are utterly adorable! I would leave them alone. Too cute for words-JMO

Usually around 6 months is a cut off, but who really knows for sure, (not I??) It looks like his left ear is almost up.. How long did you leave (or try to leave the tape on??) Did you use masking tape directly on his ears (yes, I know it can sting when it comes off) He probably won't be able to take it off if you really tape them well, and you must leave it on for at least 4 days min. Your puppy does look cute with his ears down, but if you want to try it one more time this is what you do. Make sure you shave his ear all the way down to the base, then tape the ears standing and straight, then tape the two together (tape in the front and tape in the back to hold them up.

I put the tape back on Lilly's ear(only the side that won't stand) and I will leave it there until Thursday or Friday, at that time, I will let you all know what the results are!! And then I will be done!!

no i didn't use masking tape. I was going to use that kind but my boyfriend said that was torture. like getting a wax with masking tape. ouch !!! is this what you used? I believe i used medical tape very sticky but he got it off while i was at work.

How old is she? When puppies go through their teething stage, their ears tend to drop again before they stand permenantly.

I think she looks very cute with one up and one floppy ear. Gucci's ears were up when we got her.
