| Treadmills Anyone use one for their dog? I don't know why I am just now trying it... but we have a treadmill over at my dads house, and we decided to finally dust it off (it doesn't get used much ) and we were going to try and train their overweight Dachshund/Spaniel Mix, Buddy, to use it since he doesn't like to do much of any thing else ... (he won't swim in the pool, he hates running, etc). Well of course he throws his feet down and won't move... so we gotta work on him. But Jackson and Lilly (my dads Jack Russell mix) took right to it! They LOVE it! Jackson happily hops on and I put it on level 1 and he starts walking like a pro. I am still holding his harness to help him keep his balance but he looks adorable and seriously loves it. I'm going to try and get it on video! But I'm thinking it's a great way to wear some of his energy out on a rainy day like today, or if it's too hot to go outside...

| I have used the treadmill with mine and they do great with it. Just make sure you do keep hold of the leash and not go real fast.

| Bella walks on one. To get her started on it, it took both my husband and myself and cookies to get her going. LOL One of the last times she walked on it, we finished came in from the weight room, she went back out in the room and pee'd on the treadmill. I took a picture and laughed so hard. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | A treadmill for the home is on my wish list!. I've used them in only the underwater treadmill. But you are so right they are great for HUSH, those snowey, icey days. I want to get one I can use an incline level on. Also I need one that is fairly long for the big dogs. Last time I priced the doggy treadmills was upwards of $3K.

| Awesome!! I'm so glad to see others doing it. I know I've seen some youtube clips. Here is a (dark) short clip of Jackson... that's my stepmom talking, haha, she taped while I stayed close. IMG_2596.mp4 video by actionjacksonxo - Photobucket

| I exercise mine on my treadmill when they cant go outside for extended periods of time...it works great and you just need to be aware of how far they have "gone" on the "walk"....I forgot to watch that and I practically ran poor little Crickette into the ground! |

| Jilly used to walk on my old one. My current one is back in the hobby room until they give me clearance to use it again. Got to move all the stuff off it, etc. I'll bet Tibbe would use it once I get it cleaned and checked out.

| Zada, Azrael and Razael go on the treadmill, but Jilli Ann doesn't, at least yet anyway. She's so underweight yet.

| My grandpa bought Callie a doggy one after she had leg surgery because sometimes it was way to cold out to walk her for her physical therapy. She wasn't thrilled at first but she caught on very fast and would do her time lol

| I know the dog whisperer is big on treadmills for dogs. Especially for dogs with problems but it's supposed to be great for owners that don't walk their dogs much, too. I would think for a dog with such short legs it would have to be going very slow! |

| Marcie loves the treadmill. I have to lock her out of the room whenever I want to run. I don't let her go unattended or at a fast pace. |

| Heidi walks on the treadmill. Sometimes she loves to get on it & other times I have to make her. (Just like myself!) Usually we walk at the same time, I just have to keep at the side & make sure not to step on her. She always gets a treat after her walk. Its a plain old people treadmill, not a dog one, and i don't use a leash on it.

| I have tried several times to get my lil woochies to use the treadmill using a leash/harness and setting it on the slowest speed but they just stand there before jumping off. I use the treadmill everyday myself so they are familiar with it...how do you get them to walk? |
