Heidi walks on the treadmill. Sometimes she loves to get on it & other times I have to make her. (Just like myself!) Usually we walk at the same time, I just have to keep at the side & make sure not to step on her. She always gets a treat after her walk. Its a plain old people treadmill, not a dog one, and i don't use a leash on it.
