| First actual hair cut? Hello ladies! So, when did your babies get their first actual hair cut? Bentley is a little over 4 months, I made an appointment for tomorrow for a first actual cut, do you think it's too early? I want to ask the groomer to trim around his ears, since I'm too paranoid to do it, and to give him a shorter cut since the weather has been hitting 100's here lately. Am I crazy? Or is his age okay to get a cut? Thanks! |

| Last time my Fiance took Bentley to the Groomers, the young girl told him she recommends he just gets a trim because he's still too little. IMO I just think she didn't want to spend more time giving him a cut. I'm going there again, I made an appointment tomorrow. I already told myself if someone tells me something similar I'm just going to go to another groomer. Last time I payed for a bath and trim when I can do that myself....... Thank you! I really like it too! Plus the weather here has been getting icky and hot. |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | Zachary was 5 months when he got his first hair cut. He mats really easy so his hair is pretty short. I have read that most people keep their Biewers in a puppy cut which I plan to do. Louise |

| My groomer told me that it's better to take them in when they're young so that they get used to it. Yoshi had his first haircut at 5 months. I actually spoke to a few different groomers before I decided on THE ONE. I had Yoshi scheduled as the first one in, so that he could be the first one out. I also asked them to call me as soon as he was finished so that I could come pick him up right away. I didn't want him stuck in an unfamiliar crate too long. I brought his favorite ducky blanket, a chew toy & a soft toy. It's a good thing I brought a blanket, because the place I brought him to didn't have any padding on their wire crates. They must have thought I was NUTS! But I was sooo nervous. They ended up doing a great job, Yoshi was a good little boy & now I have a great relationship with our groomer Just be sure to tell them EXACTLY how you want his hair cut (in a respectful way, of course). I've read some horror stories about grooming gone bad on this site. Good luck

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | He old enough! That cut is a great cut for an active Yorkie. It may not look exactly like the photo thou because it looks like the pup in the photo is a cotton coat and it looks like your little one has a more traditional Yorkie coat which is much thinner than a cotton coated Yorkie. It wont be as full on the legs and face. That is something to keep in mind when having him groomed for the first time. If it isn't what you expected you may end up disappointed.
