| Molly's Coat Molly my 5yr old rescue yorkie has thin hair on her back, the rest of her coat is lovely soft and thick. The vet said it is because she has been malnourished by her previous owner. She does not eat much nd is very picky, prefers human food. Any ideas how I can help thicken her coat? |

| Truthfully, if I were you, I would home-cook for her. This may not work for you, as home cooking is not for every dog owner. As a general rule, I would use a recipe that's: 50% protein (like chicken) 25% carbs (like rice or oats) 25% veggies Also, I would add supplements of fish oil, coconut oil, and vitamin and mineral powder (to fill in any nutritional gaps). Additionally, I would brush her coat daily, and give her weekly baths with gentle products. I think this is the best you could do for her coat. |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | I would do the home cooking for her also. If I only had one dog or even two, I would be doing that now. But I have 6 (yes, six) little guys so it is cost prohibitive. Bless you for adopting a rescue!! Louise |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | Forgot to ask... Is her hair long or short? Zachary's was very thin because he was matted when we got him and I cut out so many mats that he was almost bald in spots. I got his hair cut short and it is coming in even and thicker than it was before. Louise |
