| What's up with Milo? He sleeps with us and he has always got up and went to his potty pad if he had to go in the middle of the night. Then he would come back to bed. This time he went on the rug in the living room. What's up with that? And yesterday he used it on the rug to. He will b one the 21. He has been using pad pads forever and he goes outside to. Any ideas what's going on?

| I think sometimes they have a little lapse, and just need a gentle reminder of the rules. I have never removed rugs or anything when training Ziggy, he had accidents but I think accidents are the best teachers. OUr entire house is tiled, and we have rugs and bedrooms are carpeted. I think just remind him of the rules and it'll stop

| It's not too unusual for dogs to have lapses. Gracie has regressed a couple of times. I started giving her treats every time she did it right and it seemed to jog her memory really fast! Is it carpeting he is going on or a throw rug? Many throw rugs have a backing on them that have a scent similar to the smell of urine to a pet. They can cause some issues. He could be drinking more with the hot weather and he may not be able to make it all the way to the pad on time. I could think of a bunch of other reasons but treats are usually the best answer. (Unless he has a UTI) |
