Senior Yorkie Talker | Nature's Recepie Grain Free Chicken Formula So I was feeding taste of the wild and they all did great on it. I plan to go back to it as soon as possible but at the moment we are going through a rough spot with money. I know it isn't the very very best food for them. I believe taste of the wild is. But is it a decent food to feed for the time being? The ingredients look good and they seem to like it. I was just curious if anyone had any info or opinions on this particular food. Thanks in advance. |

| I'd feed Nature's Recipe over TOTW at this point, lol. TOTW is a Diamond brand food and with all of the recalls lately, I simply don't trust them. Not to mention their past issues. A trustworthy company with some price friendly foods is Fromm Gold or Classic line (their Four-Star line is pricier). The only thing that makes me hesitant about Nature's Recipe is the inclusion of menadione.

Near me, a 4 lb bag of the grain-free Fromm is $14. I see on Petsmart's website that this food is $12 for a 4 lb bag. I would say that's pretty comparable to the Fromm and the Fromm might even be a better deal since most of the formulas have a higher calorie count per cup. NR's GF Chicken has 352 cal/cup while Fromm's GF Gamebird formula has 417 cal/cup and the Chicken a la Veg formula has 393 cal/cup. You'd get the same amount of food but would have to feed less of it...just something to consider! But the Nature's Recipe looks pretty good to me so if that's the best deal price-wise and convenience-wise for you, you should give it a try! | |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks guys! I'm glad to know its not too bad. It is best convenience wise as any holistic dog food stores are a good drive from me and Petsmart is less than 5 minutes from my house. I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE RECALLS ON TOTW!!!! Thanks for that information Brister. I hate that I had to go find a cheaper food for everyone but I'm glad I did if TOTW isn't that great. Hopefully we will be able to get out of this soon and I can find something even better. Thanks again guys. |
