| Test I am getting a new puppy soon I hope and I wanted to know what test I need to have done on this puppy so that I can know if he has any congenital issues? My last puppy died from a LS and an enlarged kidney whille getting neutered and I dont want that to happen to this puppy so I want to get the proper test done in the beginning so I know what i'm in for. |

hi , i dont know much about liver shunt but i think you should make sure the breeder test the parents and they are negative. also i think the puppy has to be at least 16 weeks to be tested for liver shunt. you should at least talk to the breeder about this.. | |

| The first test is: are you buying from a respected breeder with a good reputation for raising beautiful healthy pups and who has wonderful references from people you can contact. Have you checked out the breeder? Have you checked out the contract that comes with the puppy? |

I wish you much luck in getting a healthy baby this time. Please buy your breeder first, then the puppy I'm glad that you are going to have a baby to love again, it will help your heart heal a lot!
