| ~*~Gum-boy~*~ Well Ranger decided that he wanted to try my FMIL's gum she left laying on her night stand! I came home to gum in his beard, on his chest, all over his legs, ears, anywhere you could possibly think of!! Talk about an absolute mess..... What was the cure??!! I basically coated that boy in peanut butter; he absolutely loved it, and would not stop licking himself. Then in the bath he went and I massaged the gum out. If I had a really hard time I used a thin comb and that helped get the remaining pieces out. I'm so glad I didn't have to resort to cutting his hair, he would have looked like a Chihuahua since it's already so short!! I hope no one has to go through this mess!! So make sure there isn't any available gum laying around the house!!

| Im so sorry that Ranger got into Gum, but glad that you didn't have to cut his hair off. I didn't know that you can use Peanut butter to remove gum. I also learned something new. |

| It was funny so please feel free to laugh, cuz I sure did!!! I wasn't home when the inccident occured so I have no idea how it actually happened. But I do know he jumped on the bed to reach the gum on the bed side table. I guess he was trying to eat it and either didn't like or couldn't figure out the "weirdness" of the gum. He probably tried to spit it out and it got stuck in his hair and then used his paws to get it off and spread it everywhere from there.... Thats my theory at least, I wish I had a camera set up to capture it, but oh well hind sight is 20/20 right??!! Glad I could inform some of you on the uses of peanut butter!! Remember if you (or your child) get gum in your hair peanut butter works too!! (I wish my mom knew that or I wouldn't have had to get my hair chopped off in grade school )

| I went thru the same thing with my maltese. I did the peanut butter thing too and was able to get most of his out. I about had a heart attack when he came walking in with a wad of gum on his face. Gum and a maltese or yorkie is not a good combo.

| Gum is a no go! Well Baby has had several incidents with gum! My boyfriend had a really bad habit of putting his chewed gum in an ashtray that was sitting on the floor. Well we couldn't figure out where the gum was coming from, so we went through this awful experience at least 3 times before we realized! Luckily she only got it on the mouth around her hair, but still it was just no good! |
