| to much for all in one day? My 8month yorkie is getting neutered tomorrow. But he has a retained testicle so it would be a bit more complicated. He also has to get baby teeth pulled out. I believe there are 4 of them (top and bottom canines). I was also thinking about getting him micro chipped that day. Is it to much to go through all in one day? |

| No, It will basically be like a spay surgery & retained baby teeth are often pulled during a spay or neuter surgery. Welcome to YT ! |

| My girl is getting spayed on Thursday and she is also getting microchipped and having two teeth pulled. I would say it is best to not put them under multiple times, for multiple procedures. It's prob better to do it all at once but I wouldn't know for sure due to his neuter being more invasive. I do know chipping is quick and easy (I've done it at the shelter I work for). Definitely suggest getting pre op blood work because it willl show if he is healthy enough to go under anesthesia. Good luck tomorrow, and please post an update with how he did!! I am nervous about my girls spay so I'm sure you're nervous too!! I will be thinking about you.

| It is much better to get all this done at one time rather than having to be put under several times. The microchip is just an injection but it is much kinder and easier to do while they are asleep. It is very common to have puppy teeth removed during a spay or neuter. |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | I agree with everyone else....all at once. Surgery is risky, no matter who does it and how often it is done. Better to have it all done when he is under the first time. Zachary will be neutered the end of July/early August and if anything else needs to be done, it will be done then. Louise |

| Georgie was neutered, dental done, and microchipped in one procedure. I think it's best since you only have to put them under once.

| I don't know about the retained testicle but Hot Rod was neutered and teeth done at once. Maggie was spayed, teeth and chipped at the same time with no problems. Good luck and let us know how he does.

| Ziva (7 teeth) and Abby (2 teeth) had the baby teeth removed at their spay. Ziva was actually more comfortable without the second row of teeth, which had been bothering her- Abby- couldn't even tell they were removed! The gums go right back .There should be no "wound" or soreness. |

| I agree with what everyone said and especially the part about the pre blood work. I used to be cheap and did not want to have it done on a puppy but I have come to realize how important it is, not only will you know if it is safe for him to be put under, you will also have a base line of where he is at with all his functions as he grows older. Make sure you ask for copies of all tests you have done, you never know if you will change vets in the future. Best wishes for a succesful and quick recovery

| Teegy had all done at the same time too. Microchipping is nothing compared to the other. |
