This is not even an legitimate argument... I got two shih-tzu puppies when I was around 10 and they are living happy lives with my parents. When you get your child a puppy, you have to take care of it...

I was 21 when I got my first dog and I enjoy him more than I could have ever imagined...

So if he uses this argument, should people never have kids? They are a LOT of responsibility and you can't go on as many vacations.

I didnt think it was you and although the guy was a little crude he is young and there is truth to what he is saying. I gave my 26 yr old a cat and she was too much responsibility for him. Young people usually like to go out with friends and stuff and dont want the responsibility of a pet especially an aging pet that is expensive and requires more care

I think the OP is the guy that made the video... I think using age as excuse for irresponsibility is wrong. I was 21 when I got my first dog and know a lot of people who got dogs when they were even younger... It has nothing to do with age... I know a lot of old people who can't handle the responsibility of a pet. Some people should just not own pets. I wish more people would realize this... same thing with having kids. We'd have fewer pets in shelters and kids in orphanages!

Maybe but I see the parents as the irresponsible ones for getting a pup for a young child then expect him to care for it through college yrs etc. It should have never been his pet or his responsibility it should have been the family pet and the parents should have it now not him

Exactly! Irresponsibility happens at all ages... I would never get my child a puppy and expect them to take it to college with them.

The parents definitely messed up by giving him the puppy and expecting him to spend his early adulthood taking care of the puppy. This video is surely NOT going to get him any girls!
