I started worrying about the sprays tonight, if there not gone for sure like I think they are, I will have to use a different approach keeping her off of the carpet and the fumes are starting to make both of us sick, since it lingers for so long even after they say it's safe to go in. almost done so happy, I hope..

Myy son's family had a flea problem. He got a "bomb" from his vet. They covered the wooden furniture with newspapers, left the house right after setting the bomb off. They boarded their pets with the vet for a couple days and stayed with me that next day. Afterward no more flea problems. They were prepared for a second "bombing" but did not need it

Well if your spray does not actually kill the eggs (and many do not actually do what they say they will) you may find some more fleas. Keep up the daily vacuuming. Hope your baby is feeling better. Can you open a window to get some fresh air?

I don't know if you had eliminated your flea problem but I just posted this and thought it might help...





I have had several furkids over my lifetime and whenever we see a flea I use "Pert". I took in a stray cat, wicked loaded with fleas. We shampood her and found a handfull floating in the bathwater. For some reason this stuff works like nitro on fleas. The fleas just fall off. Our [COLOR=green !important][COLOR=green !important]great [COLOR=green !important]dane[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR] never has fleas or any skin reaction either, so when our new yorkie came with fleas (free with purchase) we dipped (washed) her right away lol, she's flea free and no skin problem has been noticed. Our momma cat (indoor/outdoor) gets dipped when/if we see any on her and her baby kittens will as well if necessary. We've also put a squeeze or two in a sprayer that attaches to the hose and sprayed the yard but that only happened once when we had several animals over at one time (doggie party). Also a tiny amount in your carpet cleaner doesn't hurt either. Usually all of the fleas get knocked out on the first wash but fleas will hide near the eyes & nose to get away from the pert so take your time and you shouldn't have a problem. If anyone else has tried this shampoo let me know how it worked for you, people think I'm crazy cause of the ph blah blah blah but I've never had a problem and we don't have fleas. lol

Well, that sure is of interest, thank you! I hope I never need to, but will try this next time we encounter fleas. Dawn dish soap works too, but Pert HAS to be better on their skin. I used to use it on my hair when I was a kid

You can bathe her with the original Dawn dishsoap and lukewarm water...that will kill the fleas just about on contact.

Just make sure you use the original Dawn and don't get it in her eyes.

Well it happened again, just when they were all gone, I started letting her walk on the sidewalk outside of the apt. I guess her flea pill started wearing off and now we are back where we started, I feel like just living with them......beyond frustrated...

You are not alone! I know several people, including myself, that uses Comfortis. After 3 weeks, we start seeing fleas again. The vet told us it is because our winter was so mild that the fleas are multiplied this year. I don't know if you have used Capstar before but we use it the last week of the month and it helps. This is the 4th week of the month for us in the flea pill cycle and I have only seen one flea this time. There is a product that we use on our grass called Over and Out. It says it is for ants but it also works for fleas!

By the way, our vet also uses this product at home...and sells it in his clinic....He gives his pets Comfortis but uses this as a back up.

Most of the flea preventatives state that if there is a large flea accumulation that you may have to treat more frequently. If you use the medication regularly and don't skip you should not have to use it more frequently more than once. Just Vacuum your home really well where the fleas lay their eggs. They like to get under the cushions of the furniture and in the carpeting, etc. They multiply quickly so don't let them get ahead of you.
Dawn dish washing liquid may kill the fleas on the pet but will not continue to kill fleas as they jump on.
