| Our Vet Tech is wonderful, competent, caring & well educated, and I'm completely fine with her giving shots. We're given the choice of whether we want to see the Vet or the Vet Tech. ZoE had her one year shots this Spring, and as we separate the DHPP & the rabies shots by a few weeks, we saw the vet for the first shot and had a full yearly exam done by him at that time, and then went back a few weeks later and saw the vet tech for the other shot.

| If your vet is too busy to give vac.s he or she needs to find a new job.. I would not myself go to a doc that handed you off to a nurse to see.. Many times a vet can pick up on other issues but that's only if your dog actually see's the vet.. You should ask if the price is 1/2 off since you didn't receive the services of a vet.. You are pay for the vet to give the shot.. I had a vet tec kill one of my puppys from last litter.. Pup was 7 weeks old and in bad pain.. I think it was kidneys but I could not get though the vet tec's head the dog was in bad shape.. She kept looking at her list on the bill as to how much she had on it.. UGH... Then she gave him a shot for pain!!!! Then some subQ fluid on big syringe 30 cc made a big bunch on his side then she gave him antibiotic.. Sent me home and the bill I paid was 250.00 I got home and he got worse.. I called and told her he was dying.. I was so upset... She told me to put karo syrup under his tongue... UGH The dog died less than a half hr later.. Yeah.. Tell me about vet tec's.. They are not vets.. I can give all the shot my dogs need.. I need a vet when I pay the money for one.. As you can tell I'm still pissed off about this.. It is really hard to find some one you can trust. At this point I trust none of them and I pray over my dogs.. Thank you Jesus they are in good health.. I do have a vet that dose good by me. It was not his clinic that I had trouble with.. But I feel that pang of worry when they have teeth cleaned but so far so good.. I had my vet ck Mic's heart as he coughs once in a while.. He's going on 15 Feb.. Doc listened to his heart and said it was better than his.. We had a good laugh.. I've had people call that vets worked on their tinny dog and it died.. It's scary with these tinny ones.. |

I, personally, was talking about a competent vet tech giving a shot to a healthy dog.
