| Changing colors My Yorkie pup (3 + months old) is changing color --- all over his body (back, sides, stomach, and top of head) from black to a white/silver color. The roots have grown out with 1/4th to 1/2 inch of this new very light color. This really surprised me. I'm beginning to pay close attention to the colors of all your Yorkies, and it appears that a lot of them are an almost silver color - and some are very blonde also. I know that Yorkies need to be certain colors and meet the standard to be shown, but it appears that they can be a lot of other colors also. And, I am learning that these colors change a lot as they grow. I can't wait to see what color my Yorkie ends up being. He's a pet - so any color he chooses to be is fine with me. Were a lot of you surprised at the color your Yorkie decided to become????? Carol Jean |

| Yes, my Yoda has changed quite a bit over his first two years. It's quite amazing to see, especially if you have a series of photographs and put it in chronological order. Just another one of those Yorkie surprises! |

| What age do they change? Simon and Nigel are still gold and black and they are 1-1/2 years old. Will they change color? They have cottony coats. |

| Piper is almost 9 months old and is going to favor his Mom Dog I think. She has the gold head and black torso and his Dad Dog is all gold and silver. Here is a pic of them. His mom is front and center and his Dad is rear right. I always say they are like little mood rings...you never know what color they'll be next .
