| I was never going to have another dog when my last one passed at the age of 15 years. He was so perfect. He was well mannered and so loyal. He had been there during the difficult years as my kids went through grade school and high school. Actually it was the kids idea to get him but he ended up being mine after the second week. (Sound familiar?) It was several months after he passed that Gracie came along. I had looked into adopting an adult dog but had no success. Gracie has been an awakening to me. Shih Tzu's are the sweetest little dogs and they are very smart but Gracie is a thinker. Sometimes she out thinks me and is one step ahead of me a good deal of the time. She is right with me when I am active and on the days when I'm not able to move very well she is right by my side. While most dogs are loyal and good friends this little girl just goes several steps beyond what any other dog has been to me. She she has picked out several activities that she feels are her "job", like letting me know when one of the cats wants to come in or go out. She also feels quite defensive when a stray cat enters what she considers her territory. I have a serious back injury and some other health issues that have made me considerably less active then I ever expected to be at this age. Gracie has given me that incentive to push myself forward in doing things. I have found ways to exercise her and keep her active little mind happy. I really love her and her quirky little personality so much. I could not have found a more perfect furry friend. |

| Well I can tell you I wasn't going to have an inside dog in my house. Nope, no way, no how. Wasn't happening! Then our house sold and we had no place to go. This made us have to stay with my parents for a few months while they finished building my new home. I fell in love with my mom's Shih Tzu!! Maggie was so sweet and she was sleeping with me. So when we finished our house I went to go get a Shih Tzu. It was Christmas time and I was just starting to look. My SIL had Yorkies and needed to find homes for two of them. After talking to me, she said just let me bring one over to your house and then you decide. New Years Eve she comes to my house with a male Yorkie (Ears was his name) and a female (My Rosie). It was total Love at First Sight. I feel in love with that little girl. And she has been my baby since. She is a total momma's girl and gives me so much joy in my life. Mikki, my second girl, we have had almost a year. She is more of a daddy's girl but I love her to pieces too. But I will be completely honest, Rosie, being my first, has a very very special place in her momma's heart.

| Though Tibbe was cage-crazy when I got him & we had a very rough start due to my physical problems & his not knowing anything about the world or having basic living skills, I, in time came to love him more than life itself! He was just the dog I needed & his determination to trust & learn from me, his eagerness to enjoy this wonderful new life he had somehow found despite his fears & his willingness to try to overcome them just caught at my heartstrings & never let go as we worked through our problems. I realized doing things for Tibbe - the obedience training, the constant trips outside for potty training & play, the leash training & short walks(I couldn't make it far), the teaching him about baths, nail trimming, tooth brushing, hair grooming, proper behavior around visitors & other dogs, teaching him to play with his toys, the vet visits, plus all of the other things involved in properly caring for a dog - was actually helping me after the initial weeks of increased pain & discomfort. I was getting stronger & flexible again - all thinks to 5 lbs. of Yorkshire Terrier!!! My love for him, which was already so strong, quadrupled just out of sheer gratitude for all he'd given to me on our journey together. After a year with Tibbe, I had a perfectly housebroken, extremely smart, obedient, fun-loving, constant companion who seemed to understand about 200 words & phrases, greeted me at the door every time I came home as if I'd just won the lottery & he was getting half & who never left my side when I was having a bad day. Plus he had a bit of attitude, which is always good for a laugh. He's a real little toot! No matter how hard it was at first & how hard times were, I now have a true friend I literally couldn't live without. I so enjoy having a best buddy who thinks I am the most wonderful person in the world & I know he the most wonderful dog ever. I'm so proud of how far he's come from the first day I brought him home. We have a mutual admiration society that grows stronger every day. On top of all that, he's so darn cute to look at, he's pure eye-candy. We have a great life together & he's so important to me in so many ways, I couldn't make it without him & wouldn't even want to try. I thank God for that day I woke up in May, 2008 & decided to call Jilly's breeder & rather than the fat, jolly female puppy I went to see, she brought out Tibbe "just to look at", telling me she thought we were made for each other, then telling me his hard life story. Well, she was 110% right when she gave me Jilly & she hit the bullseye again when she presented Tibbe! Starting with baby Scotty, then tiny Jilly & now my little Tibbe, I have truly, truly been blessed to have them all in my life and each has filled it with year after year of priceless Yorkie love.

| not sure what else to add but Lola is the love of my life, I feel in a good way that life revolves around her. Her boundless energy and happy go lucky personality brings multiple smiles to my husband and my life daily. We do not have any kids so LOL without her to talk about things would be pretty dull around here.

| I loooooooooooooooooooove my dogs, my social schedule works based on their schedule they are #1. I'm fortunate to have friends and family who love dogs, my cousin has never allowed a dog in her home until she met Teegy and he is her one and only favourite dog. (she hasn't met Tufty yet) They have their space in the living room and their toy box, although when I lounge I find I turn into a wrestling arena... I have always been a person who loved walking and now I have great company when I take them. I have switched from a mainstream to a holistic vet in order to provide an all round better care for them and not over vaccinate and also switched them to a raw diet. It costs a little more a day, but it will pay for itself in the longterm. They are a joy and I really don't think that until you own one, you can understand the love of a Yorkie, I as many of you likely have, have been around dogs my whole life, had a dog before, but never ever felt like this over a dog. They are wonderful expressive, faithful, yet stubborn, living creatures and my life would be empty without them |

| Yay, I like this thread. Needed a smile on my face! Gizmo is our only pup. But he's one awesome little dude. Since he was a puppy, we have taken him everywhere so now he expects it. He's so good no matter where we go, and just loves seeing people and going onto rides around Lowes in our cart! Despite all of his past health problems, and current behavior issues we're working on, I wouldn't trade him for anything. He's a Momma boy, and is always happy to see me. Even if I ignore play time in order to paint our house! Lovin' my Monkeyman of mine!

My husband and I have talked about getting another one once we get everything with our house and jobs in order - like that will happen soon - but if it can't work out that way, and Gizmo just doesn't seem to be responding to his behavioral training. Then a one dog household it is!

Senior Yorkie Talker | My first Yorkie Kagan (aka shredder) was the first yorkie I personally Ever owned she was my life after she passed It was so so hard for me. I still had one of the puppies from her one and only litter She is pictured in my avatar the one in the middle I named her polly pocket and had given her to my aunt as a gift sense she had lost her beloved yorkie who was 20 years old. ( I grew up around that dog). So I was yorkieless for 3 years still seeing polly pocket aka. minnie. I never thought I could ever Love another yorkie the way I loved my shredder. She was there for me through moving out on my own, my sisters death, moving out of state the first time, my first child, meeting my biological mom, and I was always there for her spoiling her with love and pampering her like the princess she was. After losing her it was such a heartbreak, Well recently when spending time with my aunt who has minnie she came up to me with a picture frame in hand and gave it to me. It had a picture of shredder at 6 months of age. I knew then I wanted to put it somewhere where I could see it all the time. Its in my living room where I will always have her looking down I knew that I was finally ready to have another yorkie I know shredder would want me to spread the love I have for her with other furbabies It took me less then a week to find the perfect little girl which I have named Jersey Girl and I have had her a week and feel like I am again on cloud nine. She warms my heart night and day even when she is just snuggled up snoozing. No other breed can make me feel the way I feel for yorkies. Their bouncy personality their complete dedication to their family! Just the way they look at you its like they connect to your heart and soul. They choose you even tho you pick them. That terrier mind set always makes me laugh even when they are being stubborn lol They believe they are so big because they have such big hearts! I cant even explain the connection I have with my little girl But I am sure almost every yorkie momma or daddy knows exactly what I mean! Yorkies are truly the greatest dogs. All you gotta do is be there for them and provide for them and they really will do the rest. Even tho I spoil mine I cant imagine life any other way for this breed
