| Why do we love our yorkies so much? Is it because it is the most adorable thing when they stare up at us with their big round eyes and tilt their head to the side? As if saying "Mommy I don't understand what you're saying" Maybe the way they just trot along with their little bodies. No wait...maybe its their liiiiiiiiittle tails that wag a hundred miles an hour when they see us walk in the door as they twirl around with excitement? You've gotta admit their little "nubs," as my aunt puts it, are the cutest thing. Hold it, I've got it....it's their unconditional love for us. So who cares if you got mad that she went potty on the carpet and yelled at her....they will always kiss you so much that their tongues go ALL the way up your nose and snuggle up next to you when its time to go nighty night. |

| Over 30 yrs ago I told my children we were NOT dog people. I was raised in a dog friendly home, but after getting the girls a poodle, then a male Doxie, then an Irish Setter...and none worked out..I say ..NO MORE DOGS..you can have FISH. We went to visit my father for Christmas, he said he had a new hobby. He imported 8 Yorkies from England..and was breeding. He told my girls they could take their pick. They picked a 4 yr old girl named Sissy. SHe turned out to the most wonderful dog in the world. The rest is all a blurrrrrrrrrrrr!! I have been obcessed for 33 yrs...because "Yorkies are humans in little fur coats." |

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | LMAO !!! I SO AGREE with everyone here and love Pat's statement and it's RIGHT ON !! "Yorkies are humans in little fur coats." Oh yes they are - Since my boys are grown up - I now feel like I finally have 2 girls...they've added SO MUCH to my life...words just don't do it justice. What else I think is cool is all yorkies are very different in looks and temperments.... they ALL are just so special |

| What a fun thread this was to read... We have always had dogs around but like you... I was never really a dog person. None ever seemed to touch my heart the way my Yorkies do.. I have been obsessed with these little ones for awhile now.. It was that cute little face that did me in.. Then I started reading all these great stories and how these little ones were with their humans. I had to wait two years for our first Yorkie... I dont know how I ever survived with out one now.. LOL |

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I was raised in a very animal friendly home we had all sorts of pets, dog cats, birds, reptiles, monkey etc. I begged to get my own dog at 17 and had wanted a Afgan, it was the 60's and I loved their long hair, well my mom said too big get a yorkie, she's from England, so I took my last 50.00 out of my savings and bought Karma, I know another 60's thing. well he ended up being 18 lbs hardly and coat, and floppy ears but he hd papers, anyway when I moved out a few years later my dad was so attached I couldn't take him, so I got Zorro and I could not believe I could love something so much! Then I had Gracie my little girl yorkie who died at 6 1/2. In my grief my husband and dtr talked me into a pom (12 lbs), while I love her I just missed the Yorkie personality and finally got Cali a few months ago. And theres that feeling again of intense love!!! Yorkies are the BEST!

| I was at the NY Yorkie shows a few years back when I saw an acquaintance whose husband died 3 days prior...I was surprised to see her there...but she told me she just knew her husband would understand she could not miss the biggest Yorkie show of the year. She said she would have the funeral when she got home...for years since my husband says he sure will try very hard not to die when it is inconvenient for me..haha, very funny!! |

| I had every kind of animal under the Sun growing up but our smartest, sweetest dog ever was Fluffy. She was a Yorkie mix and was perfect. After I moved out of my parent's house I only had cats until I fell in love with Boxers (because of the Hubby's love for them) and then with my Chi, Pixie, but I've never forgotten our precious Fluffy...no dog has ever been as cool. Because of Fluffy I've ALWAYS wanted a Yorkie and finally got up the nerve to ask for one. I knew the hubby always said he hated long-haired, little yappy dogs because his ex-wife had a s**t-zu but when I asked he agreed, no problem...so I got my Lil' Piper Cub and now we are waiting for our girl. We ALL love our Piper and he is the perfect additon our family. Won't ever be without a Yorkie again!!!

| My love for the breed came about when I was still in elementary school. My parents were going through a divorce and my aunt (who had just gotten a yorkie) got my mom and I one also to bring some joy to our lives... She was such a wonderful addition to our family and she really helped us get through some hard times. She brought so much happiness to my other dog's life too (a maltese whom we loved dearly also...he was our first family pet). 3 yrs later, unfortunately, she passed away. That was one of the most heart-wrenching experiences of my life. I never thought I could own another yorkie... When I got married, my husband and I decided it was time to get a small breed dog...I started looking like crazy...The more pictures I saw, the more I wanted a yorkie, until finally one day I told my husband that I had found the perfect yorkie for us. We both fell in love with Miko immediately!!! He is our pride and joy...Our families know that he is our son not just a pet. I look at him everyday and feel so blessed that he's with us I love when he looks at me with those bright eyes and the way he wags his little tail, and the way everytime we walk in the door, he goes nuts and gives us kisses and runs all over the house. He is really a little human trapped in a fur coat..You said it perfectly |

| It is everything that has already been said. I have had pets my entire life and alot of dogs. Never have I felt the total attachment I have with Mac and Mellie. It is not just me, but everyone in the family also feels this way about them. I love watching my 17 year old son curled up on the couch with M & M it's just so touching.

| i dont no what it is either but i just look at my rosies face and my heart melts shes my baby and i love her so much, everyone in my family love her to pieces, my brother whos 51 rings me up to take rosie round to see him so they can play chase to gether, rosie loves him to. my mum (rosies nanny) carries rosie around singing to her and my rosie lies back and enjoys it just like a human. so i think they get into your heart and you just have to love them |
