| Feeding schedule? I need to figure out when to feed Penny-help! She only goes poo in the middle of the night. It would be very nice if we could do this during the day! She is 12 weeks old this week. I just feed her this morning, and I was going to pick up her food. I was going to feed her again in the afternoon. She weighs 4.5lbs. |

| Rosie is 5 1/2 lb and I feed her twice a day. I feed her at about 6 am and again about 4 pm. She is in a routine now and it has worked for us.

| Abby was a little smaller than your pup and rather skinny so I offered her 1/4 cup 4x a day. I went to 3x at 4-5 months and than twice a day at 7 months. She did not poop after eating like most puppies but when she got hungry- I guess her little tummy started rumbling around empty and made her digestive track move into action. It was hard to time but got better as she caught up with some weight. Now she poops shortly after eating (10 months) 1/4 cup 2x day at 8am and 4pm |

| The puppy chart I had said that young pups should be fed 4X's per day until they are a little older. Then it is 3X's per day and by the time they are 9 mos it can be 2X's per day. Of course, the best advise should be from your vet. Cherie

| Young pups should be fed 4 times per day. Reducing the feeding down over the months to 2 times per day. Best advise should come from your vet.

| When you say offer her food- does that mean put it down and give her 10 minutes with it? |

| With Rosie, I gave her the food and left it there for a bit. Once she ate I picked it up. After you do this for a while, they will get into a routine. Now Rosie eats her entire meal at morning and again at night. However, she was 6 months old when I got her. I am not sure if it is different with a puppy. I think they need to eat a little more.

| She really only eats once a day. She might have a few pieces other than that, but not much. Ni am going to try picking up the food and offering it to her when we eat. I hoe this gets things more regular. |

| My baby is smaller (3lbs and 1 year) so I free feed and have always done that. But I think if he were bigger i would feed twice or three times a day depending on his needs

| You need to take her out about 20 mins after she eats and have her sniff around. If she finds an interesting spot she might go. Or play with her after she eats and then take her out. You have to get that digestion moving and thinking about pooping! If she doesn't go then take her out every hour until she does! |
