| ![]() WOW Celstu1. Uhhhhhh...decisions decisions...I want to start him off the right way so I wont have to force him to change later. Its a tough one. I'm hoping some how he can be comfortable sleeping in bed with me sometimes, but also know how to sleep in his own bed. I may switch off. |

| ![]() I don't allow our dogs in our bed at night. Mine have their own beds and kennel area. I'm afraid for my dog's safety if they slept in our beds, we all roll and toss I'm afraid one of the dogs could get kicked, smooshed, pushed off the bed or otherwise injured. We previously had a bed that was over three feet off the ground so just the sheer height of it was dangerous for the dogs. Also it's just gross to me that my dogs go in the yard barefoot run around barefoot in the house and then would put their feet on our bed. So for their safety and my germ-a-phobie they have beds under our bed and their kennel beds.

I'm with you on this...Marley wont be outside for a while (I want him to have all his shots including the rabies shot which some sites say wait until he is 4 months, others say wait until he is 6 months). So I do believe he will be clean enough, but my bed is high up, I have a box spring, and TWO mattresses (love a high bed). I'm a very light sleeper, the slightest thing wakes me but I dont want to hurt him. | |

Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() You could always wash their feets off as we do at night when it get's bed time, we even was their little boy or girly area so their clean for the night. Our two still sleep in the playpen until about 4:00 a.m. then it's fake potty trip just so they get to sleep with us until 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. then it's potty time for real and breakfast by 6:30. |

| ![]() Marley is home!!! He is everything and more!!! I can't believe how good he is! He does what I do, if I am up and playing, he is up and playing, if I lay down, he sleeps on me. Lastnight was the big x-pen test. it's located next to my bed. I put him in it around 9:30pm, he went right to sleep. In the morning, I saw two ocassions of poopy on his pee pad which means he left his crate to go and then went back to bed!! This morning we went for a walk (after he ate like a champ). I thought I'd try the pen in the daytime, see how he would react. He cried for all of 1 minute, and fell asleep!!! As I type this, he is in my room, in his pen, quiet as a mouse!!! I feel so blessed, and this makes me feel so much better about leaving him in there for a few hours some days ![]() Check out my avatar, isn't he something ![]() |

| ![]() Altering males IMHO is safer should be done earlier and aids in dominance behaviors. With yorkies weight as a lot to do with it. Please have preop blood work done at least 48things hrs before and again the morning of, my scoobers was altered at 5the months and he still marked a belly band and training was critical for him elvis is still unaltered until princess was altered he only marked when she was in heat. Elvis is between 4-6showing years old.

| ![]() Mollie had slept with me ever since she came home she is now 11. It was about 8 months ago that she wanted to start sleeping in her little fluffy bed some nights mostly when her arthritis is bothering her. It was funny because my husband who is a dog lover had never let a dog stay in the bed. When we got Lizzie she was like no way are you getting up there without me she has her 1 spot that she stay in. Then when we got Abbie she had that same sad sad look. Then she was laying sprawled out as well I have trained my girls not to jump off the bed so they will as my husband puts it snake you with the paw or bark and look down. If I don't put them on the bed the will sit and growl at us. Once you get them up there it is for life. It really bothered me when Mollie started wanting to sleep in her tiny bed |

| ![]() Mine sleep with me. Jack does sometimes get up in middle of night and goes to his own bed. He cannot jump on bed, Josie can but I do have a rubber made box on other side of bed he can get on bed that way. It has a baby blanket and little pillow on it sometimes he sleeps on it. (I put it on the other side of bed so it cannot be seen when you go in my room.) He is very hot nature and I think he goes to a cooler area when he gets too warm. Josie stays there until I get up, unless she gets thristy or has to potty. But she returns. |
