Issue at the dog park

Even though the recall is lifted I took her off TOTW and started her on a new food called Canidae-Pure Elements. She seems to like it and Its another grain free high quality food.

Thank goodness I dont have gracie on TOTW. if she had gotten as sick as apache it would have really given me a heart attack. Apaches 80 Lbs, and has a great appetite so it was easy to get her to take meds and drink water... and so on. Gracie on the other hand is sooooo picky and 3 pounds.

I still have grace on the food that the store forced me to buy with her... Health Extention.. Its okay food but I plan on switching her over to a better food soon.

Apache sounds just like Coco! In her prime (she is almost 13 now) would chase squirrels and another moving in the backyard but wouldn't hurt Georgie at all. She will stand behind him and wait until he finishes drinking out of HER water bowl. One time while she was waiting she sat down because she doesn't want to disrupt him LOL. She is 75lbs and Georgie is 4lbs they used to play with her laying on the floor and Georgie jumping all over her! She would just sit with her mouth open making funny noises LOL. It's really the cutest thing in the world to me

I am glad she is doing better! Coco is easier with eating and meds too!
Georgie is picky and does not take meds well either! Yorkies are more like kids than any other breed for sure!

I didnt see any parents there with him. as for children in the park, everyone brings their kids. they climb all over the agility equipment like its a playground. everytime they do that I make sure to run apache through the agility course as fast as she can go, to scare them and get them off. There are so many children parks where I am, and only one dog park
in my area. I think its ridiculous. Theres one lady who brings her little baby in a stroller and gets mad if any dogs go near the stroller, and ignores her dog the entire time.

agreed if he wanted to hold her he should have asked. on never knows anothers intentions. i think you acted as anyone would who was worried or not sure of what he was thinking. glad it turned out ok.

As you can see by the posts most of us think you were right and the kid was wrong.
Our dog park has RULES up that say this, I think it is # 8, ASK BEFORE YOU, touch, pet, pick up, feed, correct or play with a dog that is not yours.
I think this is a good rule for every one to follow.

I would have bawled at the little,s**t what did he think he was,up to. Just because these are small dogs doesnt give people the right to manhandle them . Hope she wasnt afraid.

Omg that would be sooooo cute. I have the little people on the back of my car. A woman, A Man , two kitties, and two puppies. Our happy little family! lol. I would love a yorkie magnet though.

I would have been mad too! Kids ask to pick up my two and I tell them no. Couver is not the best with kids and Khloe gets nervous and squirms. I want them to have exposure to kids, but I don't let them get picked up... That way they can leave if they feel nervous and are not trapped in a stranger's arms.

What's really sad is that the kid cursed at you...

Never heard of that happening! Yikes! I would have been having a fit if anyone picked up my dog and started walking away. You were within your rights to tell him to put the dog down. What an idiot to curse at you. He should have been apologizing.

What is so scary with my Tibbe is that if he feels uncomfortable with whomever is holding him, he will try to jump from their arms - even if they are standing up! If this boy had been walking off holding Tibbe & he felt uncomfortable, unless that kid had a good grip on him, my little Reactionary would have probably jumped - and Lord knows the shape he would have wound up in. That's just one reason to not pick up a strange dog.

I know I have been trying to find that with football jerseys since I am a Steelers fan and my husband is a Cowboys fan. I would love to find one and have Georgie be a Steelers fan since he is (see below) and Coco be a Cowboys fan. My 4 year skin son is a Steelers fan too (at least that what I tell him LOL).
