Associated Press question Hello, I am a reporter with the Associated Press writing a story on baby boomers and their pets. I'm particularly interested in speaking to boomers who are devoted to their pets _ your yorkies in this case _ and what their pet plans are for their retirement years. If anyone has any interest in a phone interview, please contact me. If not thanks for your time. Best, Mike |
Fascinating!! I'm not a boomer (by one year only! LOL!)...I'd love to read about this though. |
I'm sure you will get a lot of responses. I'm sure there are a lot of Baby Boomers on here that will be willing to discuss their devotion to their dogs :) I would, but I'm not old enough :p Good luck! |

I guess I may be considered a baby boomer (56)? |
That's a legitimate question. My email address is mhill@ap.org, which includes the "ap.org" domain for The Associated Press. Responses can be sent there, too. Does that help? Thanks for responding. |

I can't figure out what the question means? What are my plans for my pet in the retirement years? Not sure what that means at all. Or does it mean, "do I plan to have a pet in the retirement years?" |
Well Michael if you are legit. Please post your contact info with the Associated Press, how-ever do they actually have reporters on full time staff? Let us see if you are real before we agree to any phone interview. And Btw you should have known these questions would have been asked; and provided the information in advance. And yes I am a Boomer |
AP does have many full-time reporters, but good call to ask for further identification. |
AP does have a reporter on staff named Michael Hill from Albany, NY. Not saying this is him though. |

But you could always call AP at 518-458-7821 and leave your number for him to call you back. |
Well I think this kind of question and query is not de rigeur. He might just be legit, but surely he should know that asking a question without supplying his credentials is suspect. Great he is doing an article - supply then his C.V. and his business addy and phone number so interested parties can look him up and check him out, prior to entering into any info/interview session. I've half a mind to write associated press and express my displeasure at how one of their "staff" is conducting themselves. |
AP Hi- I'm sorry for not providing more information in my first post. I can certainly understand why some people are leery. I am an Associated Press reporter based in Albany N.Y. My email is mhill@ap.org and my work number is 518-458-7821 (which can be Googled for verification). The only personal information I'm seeking revolves around stories about your yorkies. Feel free to contact me by any means you feel comfortable if you are interested. Again, this looks like a fun forum you have here and I apologize for anything that might have detracted from that. Best - Mike |

We're a tough crowd, aren't we, Michael? LOL, and I bet you thought you were getting an easy little "fluff" story to write about. ;) |
I am only too delighted to miss an opportunity to be mis-quoted by the AP...but thanks for asking! :p Too rough? Oops! Sorry...not trying to be rude or impolite either...lol :D |

Hey, I'm a baby boomer! Mr. Hill, we are really a great group of people who love our Yorkies. No harm in being cautious, we've had our share of trolls in here, playing on our heartstrings. If you checkout Paris' blog, you can see a great story about a great Yorkie. |
Maybe it's just me but if I was a boomer, I wouldn't email him, if you do he has your email address your name your age your address I had my dog's picture stolen once and sold and she was dead at the time. ( they made out by people wiring them the shipping fee through a third party) Too many people looking for these expensive dogs to take a chance with a man who can't even articulate what he wants from us. |
Wow...you ladies are a tough crowd  |
